This is way too coincidental.  The dealership and/or BMW refused to replace the pump under warranty and only installed a shield over the unit.  It is my contention that the module was exposed to moisture for over 10 years such that the electrical pump suffered premature wear and tear.  The parts match the recall description.  I am seeking reimbursement of $955.44 for the cost of replacement. THE CAR IS UNUSABLE WITH SUCH A DEFECT AND IS LIKELY TO TAKE 6MONTHS OR MORE TO FIX. THEY OFFER NO TIME LINE TO FIX THE ISSUE AND REQUEST THAT I SIGN A WAIVER ACCEPTING AN INFERIOR RENTAL CARE DURING THE PERIOD IT TAKES FOR THEM TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE AND ASSUME THE COST AND LIABILITY OF STORING THE UNUSABLE BMW. I WAS APPROACHING THE LIGHT AND I WAS GOING TO TURN LEFT ON MILITARY TRAIL, THE GUY WHO CRASHED ONTO ME WAS COMING FROM THE NORTH ON MILITARY TRAIL TRYING TO MAKE A RIGHT ONTO FOREST HILL BLVD, BUT TOOK THE LANE HEADING EAST INSTEAD OF THE ONE HEADING WEST. THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT THE VEHICLE HAD SUFFERED FROM RODENT DAMAGE, AND THAT THE WARRANTY WILL NOT BE COVERING THE DAMAGES AND THAT I SHOULD FILE A CLAIM WITH MY AUTO INSURANCE.  I INQUIRED ABOUT WHY THE RODENTS ARE ATTRACTED TO THE WIRING AND ALL THEY CAN SAY WAS TO HIRE PEST CONTROL AND THEY WOULD HELP ME RID OF RODENT ISSUES AT HOME.  I DID SOME ONLINE RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT THAT BMW HAD BEEN USING SOY BASED INGREDIENTS TO PRODUCE SOME OF THEIR WIRING PARTS AND COATING.  THIS OF COURSE WAS NOT DISCLOSED AT TIME OF PURCHASE AND I WOULD HAVE NEVER KNOWN ABOUT IT IF I HADN'T FACED WITH SUCH CIRCUMSTANCE. I WAITED FOR A RESPONSE UNTIL THIS MORNING WHEN I RECEIVED AN EMAIL ANNOUNCING THAT MY CAR WAS READY FOR PICK-UP, WITHOUT ANY MENTION OF DISPOSITION OR REPAIR.
