I received the letter this week about the recall, and I've been trying all week to get it taken care of. I reached out to the deal Big Number 1 located at 505 Cobb St Birmingham AL 35209 about this recall. This is the second recall that I have had since I purchased my bike. The last recall was no problem. I called the dealer, they set up the tow, completed the recall and I drove it back home. This time, I was told that I would have to pay for a tow. I called BRP and was told that the dealer could invoice them for the tow but Jeff at the dealer called and they told him that they would not. My warranty just expired but I have insurance and roadside assistance. From my understanding and what is written in the letter I received; this recall should not be of any cost to me. Currently, I am being told that I will have to pay for my bike to be towed. I am sending this email to get assistance with this. Since I received the letter, I have not been able to ride my bike. Big Number 1 is the dealer I bought it from there's not many locations in Birmingham. I need some assistance in getting my bike to the dealer to have this recall done. Dealership techs were able to reproduce these symptoms on test rides. First attempt at repair was the changing of the YAW sensor. The second attempt of repair was a bearing and bushing replacement repair kit in the pitman arm housing of the steering system. The third attempt of repair was to reprogram the steering angle sensor. It is currently back at the dealership for the ongoing problem of power loss and braking during left hand curves. This is a hazard to the operator of the vehicle and motorists in the vicinity because the vehicle is changing speed and direction with no operator input. Research shows this to be a very common problem for owners of this vehicle, and very little knowledge of the cause or repair from the dealerships or the vehicles manufacturer. Something needs to be addressed with this issue. Quite possibly a component or system of components may need to be redesigned and recalled. At approximately 3,000 miles I noted that when in a left turn the rear tire beings to wobble back and forth. During this time the throttle becomes unresponsive and reduces power. Example, I can be in a gradual left turn going 40 PMH and when the wobble begins, it will drop the speed to around 25 MPH. When I come out of the turn, power returns and the bike return to normal. During this transition, you have to be ready for this as it can be very unexpected as you are fighting the handlebars to go left. During each event I don\u2019t get a fault code. I\u2019ve been living with it as I figured that was just how the Ryker was. However, I had someone following me recently and they witnessed it and commented that something was not normal. So, I called dealers and Can Am. No one had heard of what I was describing. I began to look into it and noted that it might be a yaw rate sensor problem. Took it to a dealer where they said there was no fault code so they couldn\u2019t do anything. I suggested resetting the Yaw Rate Sensor, which they did. About 10 miles from the dealership on I 81 in the passing lane, going uphill with a semi behind me and 2 to the right, the bike went into Limp Home Mode. The speed roller back unexpectedly. With a lot of arm waving and kind truck drivers, they let me in so I could get off at the exit. Drove it back to the dealer where they noted a Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) fault. Ride back home was uneventful until I was exiting I81 South and getting on I 64 East which is a gradual left turn. I was 2/3 into the turn with no issues so I was happy that it looked like it was fixed. Then the back brake locked up for a split second which startled me and to keep it into the turn I had to correct with the handlebars. Quite frankly, I almost lost control of the bike.
