Additionally the screen will unexpectedly dim causing additional readability.  I consider this to be a potential safety issue as it is unknown if and when the screen may go entirely blank.  I have contacted Freightliner and they will not warranty the part even though it appears they own Medallion and this part is proprietary.  There apparent fix is a $6,000 replacement which is  2.5% of the cost of the motorhome.
