The fault is not consistent or reproducible on demand, it occurs unpredictably across different drive cycles, which makes it difficult to document with video or photo evidence at the time it occurs. When the fault is present, the driver does not have a reliable rear-view image, reducing visibility and situational awareness while backing up. I checked my VIN against Ford's and NHTSA's recall databases and found no open recall covering this specific vehicle for this issue. However, Ford has issued multiple prior recalls (including NHTSA 25V315 / Ford 25S49) for related APIM software defects causing rear camera freezing, blanking, or display corruption on other model years and vehicle lines. This suggests the underlying APIM/software issue may not be fully resolved across all affected builds, including 2025 model year trucks not currently covered. Safety Concern: Because the failure is intermittent and unpredictable, the driver cannot anticipate when the rear camera will be unreliable, which itself is a safety hazard distinct from a consistent failure that could at least be planned around. This creates a risk of collision with pedestrians, vehicles, or objects behind the truck during reversing, particularly since the rear camera is often relied on as a primary means of rear visibility. Additional Notes: I am in the process of documenting occurrences and requesting APIM diagnostic logs from Ford/dealer service to establish a pattern, given the intermittent nature of the fault.","products":[{"type":"Vehicle","productYear":"2025","productMake":"FORD","productModel":"F-150 HYBRID","manufacturer":"Ford Motor Company"}]},{"odiNumber":11760332,"manufacturer":"Ford Motor Company","crash":false,"fire":false,"numberOfInjuries":0,"numberOfDeaths":0,"dateOfIncident":"05/06/2026","dateComplaintFiled":"08/28/2026","vin":"1ftfw3ldxsf","components":"POWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM","summary":"Vehicle demonstrates an intermittent lag during acceleration, particularly during throttle position changes. Typical throttle response is appx 0.5s as measured by stopwatch. When the issue is replicated the delay can exceed 1 second. This is most concerning during situations where moderate to brisk acceleration is needed at a specific time such as turning across traffic at an intersection or merging with traffic flow with a large speed disparity from one lane to the other. Vehicle has been taken to multiple Ford dealerships multiple times. The ECU and TCU have been reprogrammed and the situation does not change. Dealership has noted an issue one time but otherwise claims that they have not been able to show the issue to be out of allowable parameters by Ford. Numerous forum posts online discuss the same symptoms and comment similar findings by Ford dealership techs. What they can readily replicate is understood but considered \"normal\". This behavior has created 2 different situations that nearly culminated in severe accidents with myself driving the vehicle, one time with my child in the seat exposed to oncoming traffic when the accelerator lag caused a severe situation. The first severe situation was crossing traffic outside of my child's school with oncoming traffic having to slam on brakes in order to avoid the collision. The second situation happened while merging lanes on a highway going from ~45mph up to ~60mph and almost caused the neighboring lane to rear end the vehicle. The dealerships have noted the delay exists but to be considered \"within allowable limits\" when it happens. No warning lamps come on as a regular pattern. This pattern first appeared when the vehicle was less than 500 miles on the odometer. The first dealership ignored the information.","products":[{"type":"Vehicle","productYear":"2025","productMake":"FORD","productModel":"F-150 HYBRID","manufacturer":"Ford Motor Company"}]},{"odiNumber":11760396,"manufacturer":"Ford Motor Company","crash":false,"fire":false,"numberOfInjuries":0,"numberOfDeaths":0,"dateOfIncident":"08/13/2026","dateComplaintFiled":"08/28/2026","vin":"1FTFW3LD5SF","components":"ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,STRUCTURE,UNKNOWN OR OTHER","summary":"**2025 Ford F-150 \u2013 Repeated Wiring Harness Damage** I am reporting two separate incidents involving a 2025 Ford F-150 that resulted in significant damage to vehicle wiring harnesses and required replacement of major wiring components. On March 4, 2026, the vehicle sustained wiring damage during a dog-related incident. The vehicle was inspected by a Ford dealership, which determined that a major rear wiring harness required replacement. The repair cost approximately $2,054. The affected wiring was associated with the rear-axle/rear electrical system. In August 2026, a second, separate dog-related incident again resulted in extensive wiring damage. Ford ordered multiple wiring components to repair the vehicle, including RL3Z-13A409-F, RL3Z-14A411-B, TL3Z-13A576-AFA, and TL3Z-15K857-A. These components include major wiring assemblies and wiring associated with the ABS/wheel-speed sensing system. My concern is not simply the damage caused by the incidents, but the apparent vulnerability and accessibility of critical wiring on the vehicle. Two separate incidents within approximately five months resulted in substantial wiring damage and replacement of multiple harnesses and electrical components. Damage to wiring associated with braking, ABS/wheel-speed sensing, lighting, or other vehicle systems could potentially cause loss or malfunction of safety-related functions. I am requesting that NHTSA document and review these incidents to determine whether the routing, shielding, protection, or accessibility of wiring harnesses on the 2025 Ford F-150 presents a potential safety defect or broader safety-related trend.","products":[{"type":"Vehicle","productYear":"2025","productMake":"FORD","productModel":"F-150 HYBRID","manufacturer":"Ford Motor Company"}]},{"odiNumber":11753525,"manufacturer":"Ford Motor Company","crash":false,"fire":false,"numberOfInjuries":0,"numberOfDeaths":0,"dateOfIncident":"07/26/2026","dateComplaintFiled":"07/29/2026","vin":"1FTFW5LD3SF","components":"VISIBILITY","summary":"The contact owns a 2025 Ford F-150. Immediately before the collision, I experienced a sudden change in braking. The brake pedal became very hard, and the vehicle did not slow as expected even with increased pressure on the pedal. This condition lasted for a few seconds and significantly reduced my ability to stop. The auto braking feature also did not activate. There were no clear warning indicators at the time, and the event happened very quickly. Based on how the vehicle responded, it felt like a loss of brake assist. My vehicle collided with a semi truck, totalling the front end. I was very lucky to walk away alive. Thankfully airbags and my seat belt saved me. The Failure: While driving down the highway with Blue Cruise engaged and in control, the truck quickly veered off to the right. I immediately grabbed the steering wheel to correct the direction of the truck to avoid being driven off the road by the system. Based on the photo (attached) I have attached, it appears the Blue Cruise system possibly became confused with these lines in the road. Had I not corrected the vehicle, the truck quite possibly could have continued veering to the right, causing a catastrophic vehicle crash. I have attached a photo for your viewing. The Concern: The second issue relates to the F150s transmission. Like my 2021 F150, the 2025 F150 continues to exhibit the same concern with the transmission shifting hard (with a thud) from Park to Drive and similarly when stopped at a light to engaging the gas pedal.
