I found out there is a recall for this defective part on just about every Ford F-Series 6.7 Diesel \"except\" my specific year and model. The recall on all of the other F-Series trucks have the same defective part as my truck has. Why is Ford getting away with this. If the part installed in my truck is the same defective part that is being replaced on all of the other trucks, why is my truck not included in the recall, it is the same defective part. It is costing me over $1,700.00 to replace a known to Ford and NTSB, a defective part. I would think Ford should be ordered to include my truck in the recall or replace at cost of parts only and not the full-blown excessive charge I am having to pay. Upon closer inspection, I observed raw emissions coming from the exhaust manifold.  Upon research I noticed that this was a very common problem with the 6.7 diesel between 2011 and 2014 with Ford even putting out a service bulletin (SSM50330) and designing repair parts and new heads for their defective design of exhaust studs.  The repair of this defective part is very costly and they expect the owners of the vehicles to bear the entire cost of this repair. Thankful we were not on a crowded freeway or highway and were able to slow down fast.  This also happened to him a few weeks earlier on a highway. This is a huge safety issue.  I\u2019m not sure if I would have been able to control the vehicle like he did if I had been driving.  Unfortunately unless you have a dealer or service tech riding with you at all times, this can not be predictably reproduced. I was traveling about 70 mph, with 3 other individuals in the truck with me.  We were on a relatively smooth highway, one that is very well maintained.  We went over a bridge and as we came off of the bridge and over the \u201cjoint\u201d between the road and the bridge, the steering wheel began to violently shake, worse than anything I have ever experienced.  I was white-knuckled trying to keep control of the vehicle, all the while slowing down on the highway.  The truck was drifting left as it was shaking and I finally was able to come to almost a complete stop, which is when the shaking stopped.  The shaking lasted maybe 20 -30 seconds.  There was no warning, no lights or messages on the dash\u2026and the \u201cjoint\u201d between the road and the bridge was not very rough.  I am thankful no one was hurt and there wasn\u2019t much traffic around us when it happened.  I am also thankful I wasn\u2019t hauling my horse trailer and horses when it happened because it could have turned out much worse.  I have scheduled an appointment with the dealership to take the vehicle in. This has happened to me at least 8 times over the past 8-10 months.  I had the shocks changed recently hoping that this would fix the problem.  This did NOT fix the problem.  On one occassion while driving in Pennsylvania towing my boat, I was nearly in an accident.  When the vibration/attenuation occurred I was driving approx 70mph and had to slow to 40mph  nearly causing an accident.  This is a very scary issue that apparently through research Ford is well aware of.  I have my truck at the dealership as I write this complaint and they are saying they cannot identify the problem....So, the genesis of the Ford class action law suit was a similar issue.  The dealership turned a customer away with a known safety issue.  Wonder if this is going to happen to me?  If I am turned away with a known safety issue and end up in an accident, you will certainly hear from me again!  This is crazy. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE EXPERIENCED DEATH WOBBLE CAN ONLY BE DESCRIBED AS FRIGHTENING, IT BEARS NO WARNING AND HAPPENS IN A SPLIT SECOND. THE DEATH WOBBLE HAS ONLY OCCURED AT SPEEDS IN EXCESS OF 50MPH. THE SIMPLIEST EXPLAINATION IS THAT ANY BUMP IN THE ROAD, LARGE OR SMALL, CAN UPSET THE VEHICLE AND SEND IT INTO A VIOLENT SHAKE, SHUTTER AND OCSILATION THAT IS UNCONTROLLABLE TO AVOID, STOP OR CONTROL THE OCCURANCE. THIS SCARIEST PART IS THIS HAPPENS ON THE HIGHWAY FREQUENTLY WITH SPEEDS IN EXCESS OF 70MPH  AND THE ONLY RECOURSE IS TO SLOW DOWN AND MANUEVER TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. THE DEATH WOBBLE OFFERS NO CONTROL OR STEERING CAPABILITIES TO THE VEHICLE. FORTUNATELY MY SPOUSE OR KIDS WILL NEVER DRIVE THIS TRUCK FOR FEAR OF WHAT COULD HAPPEN.. UNFORTUNATELY MY FAMILY DOES HAVE TO TRAVEL IN THIS VEHICLE AS IT IS A DAILY DRIVER. NEAR ELLSWORTH/THOMAS ROAD IN MESA, I GOT A NOTICE, \"REDUCED ENGINE POWER,\" AS MY 14YO SON YELLED, \"THERE'S SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE TRUCK.\"  WE PULLED OVER AGAIN AND MY WIFE AND SON SAW FLAMES SHOOTING OUT OF THE TAILPIPE AND THE EXHAUST SYSTEM WAS GLOWING RED HOT.  THE DPF WAS BLOWING FLAMS OUT TOWARDS THE GROUND. WE EMPTIED A FIRE EXTINGUISHER WITH NO EFFECT. OUR TRAILER HAS A WATER HOSE SO WE SPRAYED WATER ON IT FOR ABOUT 10 MIN TO COOL IT DOWN AND STOP IT FROM REIGNITING.      WE DID NOT CALL POLICE AS MY WIFE AND I SHARE NEARLY 40 YEARS OF LAW ENFORCEMENT EXPERIENCE. WE EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND CALLED FOR A TOW.     AFTER $10,000 IN REPAIRS, WE HAVE RECEIVED NO RESPONSE FROM FORD.  WE HAVE NOT FILED AN INSURANCE CLAIM YET AND ARE WORKING TO CONTACT FORD AGAIN.    FORD KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE DEF/DPF SYSTEMS.  DRIVERS HAVE NO INSTRUMENTATION TO SEE THE TEMP READINGS ON THE FOUR TEMP GAUGES ALONG THE EXHAUST SYSTEM.  HOW ARE THERE NO ERROR CODES OR NOTICES WHEN A VEHICLE IS ON FIRE??? EVEN HOLDING THE BRAKE THE TRUCK STILL WILL MOVE OR SPIN THE REAR WHEELS  DEPENDING ON THE ROAD SERVICE WHEN THIS DIESEL GOES FULL THROTTLE. NOT SAFE AT ALL. NEED SOME HELP GETTING THIS FIXED. HAS DONE IT WHEN SHIFTING FROM DRIVE TO REVERSE AND OR JUST GOING FROM PARK INTO DRIVE. NO REAL PATTERN WILL DO IT IN HOT WEATHER AND COLD WEATHER TEMP DOES NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE. I HAVE LEARNED TO JUST REACH DOWN AND TURN THE KEY OFF WHEN THIS HAPPENS WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND IN GEAR. WILL START BACK UP AND BE AT NORMAL ENGINE SPEED. SEVERE ENGINE RATTLE AND THEN SEVERE SHAKING OF ENTIRE TRUCK DUE TO EXHAUST REGENERATIVE SYSTEM.  TRUCK BECOMES HARD TO CONTROL ON HIGHWAY AND PRESENTS DANGER IN HEAVY TRAFFIC SITUATIONS.  FIRST INCIDENT WAS TAKEN IN FOR REPAIR; SECOND INCIDENT OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY SEVEN MONTHS LATER AND WAS TOLD BY DEALER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE THAT IN ORDER FOR THE EXHAUST REGENERATIVE SYSTEM TO WORK PROPERLY WE HAD TO WATCH FOR THE \"CLEANING EXHAUST SYSTEM\" MESSAGE TO APPEAR (WHICH ONLY FLASHES ON FOR APPROXIMATELY 5 SECONDS AND REQUIRES EYES OFF THE ROAD) AND THEN DRIVE AN ADDITIONAL 20 MILES AT SPEEDS ABOVE 50 MPH FOR THE REGENERATION SYSTEM TO COMPLETE.  UNACCEPTABLE WHEN LIVING IN AN AREA WHERE SPEED LIMIT IS 45 MPH AND THERE IS ONLY A DISTANCE LESS THAN 10 MILES FROM ONE END OF OUR TOWN TO THE OTHER.  IN OTHER WORDS, IF WE ARE PULLING INTO OUR DRIVEWAY AND THE MESSAGE COMES ON, WE ARE TO NOT STOP THE TRUCK AND DRIVE IT FOR AN ADDITIONAL 20 MILES AT 50 OR MORE MPH TO COMPLETE THE CYCLE.  VIDEO OF ONE INCIDENT OF THE SEVERE SHAKING IS AVAILABLE IF NEEDED.      2.  HARD WASHBOARD BOUNCING EFFECT WHEN OPERATING VEHICLE AT 45 MPH.  WENT TO THE PERSONAL EXPENSE OF RULING OUT TIRE ISSUE. AT VARIOUS SPEEDS THE TRUCK WILL ACTUALLY BOUNCE THE REAR END TO WHERE THE FEELING IS LIKE THAT OF A BAD TIRE OR BUBBLED TIRE.  THE WHEEL HOP WILL CONTINUE INTERMITTANTLY WHILE AT VARIOUS SPEEDS.
