According to the recall notice, a fuel injector may crack and allow fuel and/or fuel vapors to accumulate on top of the engine, creating a risk of fire if exposed to hot engine or exhaust components. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The safety risk is significant because the defect involves the potential for an under-hood fire while driving or while the vehicle is parked after operation. I use this vehicle as my primary means of transportation and have concerns about my safety and the safety of passengers due to the possibility of a fire occurring before a repair is available. The issue has been confirmed by Ford through its issuance of the safety recall. I have contacted Ford and dealership service departments regarding the recall. However, I have been informed that repair parts are not yet available, leaving the vehicle unrepaired despite the acknowledged safety defect. The vehicle has been inspected by authorized Ford dealerships in connection with related concerns. I have also communicated directly with Ford regarding the recall and the lack of an available remedy. No specific warning lights or messages related to a cracked fuel injector appeared prior to my awareness of the defect. My concern arises from Ford’s recall notice identifying a condition that may lead to fuel leakage and an engine compartment fire. I’ve had to replace my water pump already and it’s had a fuel injector recall (amongst others) in place for over a year and FORD is unable to remedy due to not having parts. This could cause a fire in my engine and is a major safety risk. On Wednesday, June 3, 2026, yet ANOTHER recall, making that 14 TOTAL recalls on the 2023 Bronco Sport, with a DO NOT DRIVE ADVISORY due to a suspension failure, was issued. These issues are incredibly unsafe and put drivers at a very serious risk of injury or death. I attempted to work with a local Ford dealership in hopes they would buy the vehicle back however they REFUSED unless I traded it in for another vehicle on their lot. Otherwise, I would have had to PAY FORD $2,000 to make up the difference in “value” (I disputed the value as I had one KBB report and they had a “different” one) and my loan payoff. I stated several times I cannot put thousands of dollars down to purchase a new vehicle at this time; however, I do not want to drive this unsafe hazardous vehicle for another day. They would not work with me at all nor did they offer to fix it or even look at the vehicle. Under NO circumstances should an owner have to pay Ford for their negligence and poor manufacturing, especially with a recent DO NOT DRIVE ADVISORY issued, no matter how much the owner owes on their loan. This is 100% a FORD issue, not a user issue, not wear and tear issue. These recalls are wildly unsafe and defective issues that lie within FORD that we as owners, should not bear the burden for. How is FORD being held accountable and at what point will they start buying these unsafe and terrible cars back without penalizing the owners? It seems far more logical and safe to buy back and lose out on $2,000 rather than taking the risk on paying millions and millions of dollars in lawsuits. This is a disgusting business practice on behalf of FORD and they should be held accountable.
The contact owns a 2023 Ford Bronco Sport. After approximately 30 minutes of driving, I noticed a strong burning oil/fluid/exhaust-type odor. Initially, I believed it was coming from other vehicles because my vehicle had passed inspection about two weeks earlier. Once parked and away from traffic, it became clear the odor was coming from my vehicle. About one hour later, I discovered a large puddle of oil underneath the vehicle. Upon inspection, the coolant reservoir was nearly empty and the engine oil level was almost completely absent from the dipstick. I added approximately four quarts of oil. The leak appears to occur or worsen once the engine reaches operating temperature. No warning lights, dashboard messages, or other indicators appeared before or during the failure. There were no visible leaks where the vehicle had been parked earlier that same day. The burning odor was the only symptom prior to discovering the fluid loss. This created a serious safety risk because the vehicle appears capable of rapidly losing oil and coolant without warning, which could result in engine seizure, loss of power, fire risk, or loss of vehicle control while driving. Oil leaking onto road surfaces could also create hazards for other motorists. The vehicle has never been off-road or driven on anything other than paved roads, and the leak does not appear to originate from the oil drain plug area. The vehicle and failed components are available for inspection upon request. Because this occurred during the weekend, the vehicle has not yet been inspected by a dealer or independent repair facility. I intend to contact the dealer on Monday for diagnosis and inspection. The vehicle has been subject to multiple manufacturer recalls and remains in the repair shop at this time. It is available for inspection upon request. The vehicle has exhibited a persistent knocking sound from the engine or drivetrain area, intermittent loss of power, and a brake system defect in which the brakes stick unexpectedly. These conditions have continued despite multiple repair attempts by an authorized dealership, including repairs related to manufacturer recalls. These defects constitute a serious safety concern. The loss of power occurred while driving and created a hazardous situation by preventing the vehicle from accelerating as expected in traffic. The brake sticking condition impaired my ability to maintain safe control of the vehicle and increased the risk of sudden or unintended braking, endangering myself, passengers, and other motorists. The issues have been reproduced and acknowledged by the dealership, as demonstrated by repeated service visits. The vehicle has been inspected and repaired by the manufacturer’s authorized service center on multiple occasions. No inspections have been conducted by law enforcement or insurance representatives. Prior to and following recall repairs, the vehicle continued to exhibit symptoms including the knocking noise and intermittent power loss. Any warning lamps or dashboard messages are UNKNOWN. Because these defects remain unresolved after a reasonable number of repair attempts and involve safety-related systems, I believe this vehicle meets the criteria for review under the Texas Lemon Law. The recall remedy is currently listed as not yet available. The vehicle began emitting strong gasoline fumes through the air conditioning vents, creating a serious safety concern and rendering the vehicle unsafe to operate. The vehicle was previously serviced at Hacienda Ford in Kingsville, Texas, in September, at which time the active safety recall was not disclosed. On December 8, 2025, we reported a gasoline odor coming from the A/C vents to the dealership. The dealership stated the concern was not covered under warranty due to mileage exceeding 60,000 miles and did not disclose the existence of the safety recall. Instead, the dealership suggested the issue could be related to a radiator coolant leak. A tow truck was dispatched to retrieve the vehicle from a workplace location. We were required to pay $86 for half of the towing cost, which we believe is improper in connection with a manufacturer safety recall. On December 15, 2025, we returned to Hacienda Ford to request a loaner vehicle or manufacturer refund due to the unresolved safety recall. We were advised that our only option was to trade in the vehicle. The dealership offered $17,000 for the trade-in and stated an additional $10,000 would be added to the cost of another vehicle due to the remaining loan balance. We refused this option due to the financial harm it would cause and requested a manufacturer buyback, at which point we were told to contact Ford Corporate. The dealership has refused to provide a loaner or rental vehicle unless approved by a service manager and has continued to offer a trade-in option that shifts the financial burden of a safety defect onto the consumer. The vehicle remains undrivable due to safety concerns, and no repair remedy is currently available. While the vehicle was in motion, the system engaged “Park” and remained stuck in this position. The vehicle immediately became immobilized and could not be shifted out of Park. The vehicle remained locked in Park for 3 weeks. The failure occurred without prior warning and eliminated essential vehicle control functions. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? I could not cross the border in a tow truck with a stranger- so I had it repaired in Tijuana at a Ford Service Center. The vehicle was towed to an authorized Ford service facility (Ford Surman BC – Tijuana, Baja California), where technicians confirmed a defect-related failure and performed warranty repairs to restore functionality. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? Yes. An authorized Ford dealer inspected the vehicle and conducted the warranty repair. No warning indicators were displayed before the incident. Ford's only advice was to "hope" nothing happens before they have the parts to fix the fuel injector safety issue with no idea of the timeframe for the remedy. It is unbelievable that a company can alert customers to a known safety issue with no recommendations to ensure the safety of drivers or planned remedy. When a potential health or safety issue is identified in other industries, the product is immediately pulled from the market and customers are told to immediately discontinue the use or consumption. Why are automobile companies allowed to recommend to consumers that they continue to drive a car with a known fire risk until a remedy is in place? At a minimum Ford should offer free inspections of the impacted parts/systems to assess driving safety until a long term remedy is in place. This is at least the fourth issue with the 2023 Ford Bronco Sport. I believe the fuel injector issue has had a previous recall that did not work. Ford offers no loaner cars, dealer transportation, or compensation for recall repairs causing owners added expenses and missed work time. How many recalls are allowed on a car model until the company is required to compensate owners? Regulations need to change to ensure driver safety as soon as a safety issue is identified and there should be mandatory compensation for owners that need to have a recall remedied, especially one that is reoccurring.
Recall Action Soon Issue Since 07-18-2025 Fuel injector replacement For More Information Telematics Generated Issue Recall Action Soon Issue Since 03-14-2025 Drivers side seat buckle replacement
The contact owns a 2023 Ford Bronco Sport. However, a Riata tech did also contribute to the issue. My 23 Bronco sport was manufactured with a transmission problem. I called once, was told it was just the computer still learning. Then at 10,000 miles there was a recall that required bringing the car in, I asked them to check the transmission and they told me the recall computer issue was probably at fault, didn't check the transmission, said it should be fine now. (They had been hacked recently, But their poor cyber security is not my fault.) At 20,000 miles, I brought it in again for routine maintenance. They finally checked the transmission and saw it had major damage. They repaired it for free under warranty. However 20,000 miles of running with contaminated transmission fluid and damaged parts gave me huge concerns about undue wear to the other parts in the transmission and it's long term lifespan. I asked for a full transmission replacement and was told that corporate would never approve it. So I called their customer service department and the customer service department said that they will not extend warranties and that it was Riatas decision not to replace the transmission (from what I understand that was blatantly untrue, it's corporate policy). So now my options are lemon law it (but the car doesn't really qualify for that and they strung me along for 20k miles when lemon law only is valid to 24k miles), or sue ford (yeah like I have the time or energy or resources for that). Have had two different Ford dealers look at the problem, neither has been able to diagnose an issue. Have an appointment with Ford dealer to evaluate again (third time) 2nd week of February due to dealer service dept schedule. Have been told to expect to leave the vehicle with them for 3-5 days for diagnosis. Have offered to take service mgr on test drive to show issue but not able to link schedules yet. Dealers have stated they cannot find an issue and have updated transmission software. Does not fix the issue. Electrical/body: Numerous problems with the following: Plugged in phone drops Apple CarPlay regularly or does not always recognize phone. (latest OS from Apple on both devices). Convenience features like seat memory, keyless entry (touch the door handle with key on you, door unlocks) intermittently not working. Rear hatch keyless entry has not worked in almost a year. Stereo system doesn't always display proper data in cluster, on radio screen. Does not always respond to steering wheel channel change button. Ford has updated software multiple times and above (except rear hatch) will work for a while then problems will start back up again. Vehicle has almost 30K miles and was purchased brand new in July 2023. Read online that this has happened to other 2023 Ford Broncos and also to the Ford F-150. They have done a software update to hopefully fix the F-150, but they have yet to do one for the 2023 Ford Bronco Sport. This can occur while starting the car or while in the middle of driving. Many have reported having to pull over as driving is impossible with the loud crackling sound coming through the speakers. The sound is so loud it can cause drivers to swerve leading to an accident and injury. Took 2023 Ford Bronco Sport to dealership and was told nothing could be done since the fix was for the Ford F-150 not the Ford Bronco. It feels like the clutch sometimes does not fully engage, and the vehicle over-revs before finally getting into gear. This causes hesitation and poses a safety danger in particular when making turns like left turns in the city from a stop. I am concerned that even with sufficient space, the vehicle will hesitate to accelerate and I could get into an accident. I have not observed any warning lamps or other messages and the vehicle has not yet been inspected. The issue looks very similar or the same as that in NHTSA ID Number: 10231021. I have noticed this behavior since the first date of ownership for this vehicle which I bought new.
My Ford Bronco Sport windshield cracked without a any sign of impact.
