First, the front passenger seat's lumbar bladder repeatedly inflates on its own, making the seat extremely uncomfortable and causing severe back pain for anyone sitting in it. I have been informed that this is a known issue affecting many Jeeps of this model. The dealership previously deflated the lumbar bladder under warranty, but now the problem has returned. I was told I must pay for the repair out of pocket because the previous deflation supposedly voided or disqualified the warranty coverage. I do not believe I should be responsible for paying to fix a recurring defect that was previously addressed under warranty. Second, the Electronic Brake System (EBS) warning light comes on randomly, and when it does, my vehicle unexpectedly slows down or comes to a stop. This creates an extremely dangerous situation while driving. I have been fortunate to avoid a collision so far, but I am very concerned for my safety and the safety of my four children, who regularly ride in the vehicle with me. I am requesting that these issues be thoroughly investigated and repaired at no cost to me, as they involve recurring defects and serious safety risks. I also request a written explanation of why my warranty claim for the recurring seat defect was denied after the dealership's previous repair.","products":[{"type":"Vehicle","productYear":"2023","productMake":"JEEP","productModel":"GRAND CHEROKEE L","manufacturer":"Chrysler (FCA US, LLC)"}]},{"odiNumber":11752949,"manufacturer":"Chrysler (FCA US, LLC)","crash":false,"fire":false,"numberOfInjuries":0,"numberOfDeaths":0,"dateOfIncident":"07/25/2026","dateComplaintFiled":"07/26/2026","vin":"1C4RJKAG2P8","components":"SUSPENSION","summary":"Right passenger side rear coil spring ejected from vehicle pull into parking space a loud booming sound from rear of vehicle","products":[{"type":"Vehicle","productYear":"2023","productMake":"JEEP","productModel":"GRAND CHEROKEE L","manufacturer":"Chrysler (FCA US, LLC)"}]},{"odiNumber":11752525,"manufacturer":"Chrysler (FCA US, LLC)","crash":false,"fire":false,"numberOfInjuries":0,"numberOfDeaths":0,"dateOfIncident":"07/23/2026","dateComplaintFiled":"07/23/2026","vin":"1C4RJKBGXP8","components":"SUSPENSION","summary":"The coil spring on the rear passenger side has become detached from my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Limited. I was unaware that it had happened when I started to drive and could hear something kind of bouncing around. When I got out of the vehicle to see what was going on, I could see that the rear of the car seemed unusually low. That is when I looked under and saw the spring dangling next to the tire. It could've caused a bad accident if it had gotten caught up in the tire or if it had completely detached and either hit another car or caused another car to hit it. The vehicle had a recall for this in 2023, before I owned it, and the status says \"inspected\" but not repaired. There was another recall early in 2026 for this same issue, but at this time, my vehicle is not part of that recall. However, it should be as this is a dangerous, scary issue that isn't immediately evident. I'm just grateful that I was in my neighborhood when it happened and not driving on the interstate at a high rate of speed, as there was nothing to indicate that it was imminently happening. It hasn't been inspected yet as it just happened but I will have it towed tomorrow to get inspected and repaired. Most recently on 6/18/2026, and previously in 2024 and 2025, the vehicle would not start: the dashboard illuminated but the engine would not crank. The engine then began smoking and a burning electrical smell entered the cabin. My wife and young child were in the vehicle. The vehicle was rendered completely inoperable and had to be towed each time. Safety risk: an engine that smokes and emits a burning electrical odor upon attempted starting presents a fire hazard to occupants. On the most recent occurrence the failure happened at a fuel station with my family present, over 1,000 miles from home, stranding us for seven days. Dealer confirmation: yes. On the two prior occasions a franchise dealer diagnosed a defective starter solenoid and replaced the starter. Both repairs failed and the identical failure recurred. On the most recent occurrence, a different franchise dealer found that a plug sealing an unused opening on the engine block was missing, allowing engine oil to spray onto and saturate the starter, destroying it. The starter and the plug were replaced. All failures were documented on dealer repair orders, which are available on request. Inspection: the vehicle has been inspected and repaired by franchise dealers on all three occasions. No police or insurance inspection. The manufacturer has been notified through its customer care department, which has open case records on this vehicle. Warning indicators: none. There were no warning lamps, messages, or symptoms prior to any of the three failures. The vehicle simply would not crank, followed by smoke and a burning electrical smell. This vehicle has spent approximately 60 days out of service since purchase and has had persistent electrical problems documented since 2023. Despite repeated dealer repairs the same failure mode continues to recur. I am reporting this as an unaddressed safety defect.","products":[{"type":"Vehicle","productYear":"2023","productMake":"JEEP","productModel":"GRAND CHEROKEE L","manufacturer":"Chrysler (FCA US, LLC)"}]},{"odiNumber":11751667,"manufacturer":"Chrysler (FCA US, LLC)","crash":false,"fire":false,"numberOfInjuries":0,"numberOfDeaths":0,"dateOfIncident":"07/18/2026","dateComplaintFiled":"07/20/2026","vin":"1C4RJJAG0P8","components":"SUSPENSION","summary":"The rear right coil spring and is available for inspection upon request. The electrical issue has been known by Jeep for some time as there was a technical service bulletin that circulated regarding these issues and there are numerous other issues that were reported as well on this bulletin. Bringing you to my recent experience was after bringing my jeep in twice after my purchase (when also under warranty) to address these electrical issues I was always told no codes, jeep is fine. It continued to be a problem but subwoofer got worse. Last week I tried to remote start my car and it just flashed rear lights and didn't start. It was completely dead. I was able to jump start it and got it to the dealership and they said it was the battery and replaced the battery. I had JUST had a new battery installed upon purchase in Feb 2025. Brought it home, same thing, it died. I noticed dash light going on and off and a chirping sound before it died again. Brought it back in. They say it was the door switch that's faulty. And, yes, some of these absolutely put safety at risk (slamming on the brakes for no reason, false positives on detecting objects in road, seat moving during vehicle operation, speedometer ceasing to work, etc).
