Auto Start/Stop Technology automatically shuts off the engine when the vehicle comes to a full stop and idles for more than a few seconds. My car while stopped with the engine off, at a red light for example, after approximately 45 seconds, it will re-start itself and lunge forward. It does it every time, when you are stopped over 45 seconds and the engine is off. ( In Auto start/stop mode). Lincoln Dealership has verified this problem by driving the car and confirming the problem, but does not know what is causing the engine to re-start itself. If your foot is not on the brake, the car will lunge forward and strike what ever is in front of the vehicle. If Auto Hold Technology is on, the vehicle will still lunge but will not move forward.
