GPS Drift: The location shown on the map is frequently ahead of my actual position, which causes navigation directions (especially turns and exits) to be slightly mistimed.  However, when the speedometer is correct, the GPS drift issue would disappear automatically. So I assume that these two issues are correlated.   These issues can be confusing and potentially unsafe while driving. I\u2019ve tested other navigation apps on CarPlay and found they do exhibit the same behavior, so I suspect the issue may be general to Mercedes E300 and probably other vehicles.   I did a bit of research and found it to be a common issue of Mercedes E300 2017. I contacted Mercedes USA and was told they had a recall on my vehicle which is a 2017 E300 Mercedes Benz.  The recall effected vehicles made from July 29,2016 - February 14-2017. My vehicle was within this range being as though it was produced in 08/16. My car only has around 20k miles, basically a new vehicle inside and out.  Even though my vin # is not showing as being part of this recall, I'm having the exact same issue and would like my vin# to be included. I am thinking of trading the car so I don't want to spend more money on it so I told them to hold off.  I was searching for that problem on the Internet and I ran across a recall notice that identifies that same problem on the same door in a number of other model Mercedes, and I thought, that seems like a coincidence. What are the chances of that? The same manufacturer, the same year, the same problem on the same door. Only the model is different.  Can someone check to see if there were any problems recorded for the E300 on bulletin 17V816000? I GOT STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD.  THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE I COULD DO BUT PATIENTLY WAITED FOR TOWING WITH MY LITTLE KID INSIDE THE CAR WITH AN EMERGENCY LIGHT ON AND 4 WINDOWS OPEN. THE CAR WAS HEATED UP WITH THE OUTSIDE TEMP OF OVER 90F. MY KID WAS GETTING EXHAUSTED AND DROWSY DUE TO A HIGH TEMP OF 110F INSIDE THE CAR. I PRESSED THE ASSISTANCE BUTTON AGAIN AFTER WAITING ALMOST 40 MINS AND EXPLAINED ABOUT AN URGENT SITUATION. THEY SAID THEY WERE STILL SEARCHING FOR A PROVIDER AND WOULD TEXT ME ETA OF A TOW TRUCK ONCE THEY LOCATED IT. COULDN'T BELIEVE WHAT THEY SAID. MY KID WAS ALMOST PASSING OUT FROM THE HEATSTROKE. I STARED LOOKING FOR OTHER WAYS TO TOW MY CAR WHEN I FINALLY GOT A TEXT FROM THE ROADSIDE SERVICE SAYING A TRUCK WOULD BE THERE IN 50 MINS. OMG! THEN A LADY STOPPED HER CAR NEXT TO ME. SHE GAVE US WATER, LET ME MOVE MY KID INTO HER CAR WITH COOL AIR, CALLED HER AAA, AND LET ME USE THE SERVICE. AAA SHOWED UP IN 15 MINS AND TOWED MY CAR TO THE MB DEALERSHIP. I WAS MORE DISAPPOINTED WITH MB ROADSIDE SERVICE THAN THE CAR BREAKDOWN. WHAT'S THE PURPOSE OF THE BUTTON? WHY DID THEY INSTALL THE USELESS BUTTON IN THE CAR? IF IT WASN'T THERE I WOUNDN'T PRESS IT AND WASTE ALMOST 1 1/2 HRS ON THE STREET! THE SECOND DEALER INDICATED THAT A FORM WOULD NEED TO BE SIGNED TO DEACTIVATE THE SYSTEM; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WANTED TO ENSURE THAT THE SYSTEM FUNCTIONED PROPERLY. A TECHNICIAN WAS SENT FROM THE MANUFACTURER WHO INDICATED THAT THE ACTIVE BRAKING ASSIST DRIVING ASSISTANCE PACKAGE DETECTED AN OBSTACLE AND WAS ENGAGING WHEN THERE WAS NO OBSTACLE. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED NO REMEDY AND STATED THAT THE SYSTEM WAS PERFORMING AS DESIGNED. IN SUM, THE GPS SYSTEM IN THE $60,000+ IS NOT ACCURATE AND MAY GIVE SUBSTANTIALLY FALSE INFORMATION, CAUSING A DRIVER TO GO TO PLACES/AREAS WHICH MAY BE DANGEROUS.  THE MOST EGREGIOUS ASPECT IS THAT MB THINKS IT IS SMARTER THAN EVERYONE, INCLUDING THE REGULATORY AGENCIES, AND ARE PURPOSEFULLY IGNORING THE PUBLIC'S SAFETY.   THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. MULTIPLE PHOTOS HAVE BEEN SENT TO MB AND THE MB ENGINEERS VERIFIED THE SAFETY PROBLEM.
