If one schedules to go to a dealership they are informed that Mazda does not yet have a tool available to remedy the issue. I've been on a waiting list for over 4 months and no tool is available yet. Car would not re-start, required a tow, and I was left stranded and without transportation. Since car was inoperable it was towed to nearby reputable mechanic and per the mechanic fuel pump has failed. Same fuel pump has been recalled by other manufacturers and hundreds of thousands of 2018-2019 mx5's have been recalled due to a similar defective fuel pump. I believe my car is effected by a defective fuel pump and should be included in the recall and replaced by the manufacturer free of charge. Part can be inspected. Part has been inspected by an independent service center.
