Because the crash bars make ground contact before the footpegs, they pose a critical safety hazard and cannot be safely used. As I have removed them for my personal safety. When a crash bar touches the ground before your footpegs or feelers do, it violates basic motorcycle safety geometry. The tires were taken to dealer where it was acknowledged that there were failures with the tires and referred the contact to the tire warranty department. The warranty department offered no assistance and the contact paid out-of-pocket for a new set of tires. The tires were replaced by the contact.
