In September of 2024, my mother was driving on the freeway when she heard what sounded like metal hitting the underside of the car. I advised that she attempt to drive slowly home.   My mom made her way to the residence, pulled into the driveway,  and the vehicle accelerated with no prompting on the gas through my residence. I contacted General Motors to inform of the concern. GM sent out a representative who has determined the accident was intentional citing my mother hit the gas pedal.   This incident has caused medical concerns with my mother. She has had to seek medical care on an ongoing basis (with her legs swelling, constant headaches, back concerns, and etc.). I am writing because I was not made aware by GM there had been a recall, and other individuals were experiencing the same concerns with this particular vehicle. GM claimed the issue with the  recall of this vehicle had been rectified, but failed to give a date of the repair. GM has an issue with lots of their cars including the ctsv generation before mine and there is recalls for that one too. How can a company sell a 500hp car to someone and not make the parts for the car anymore which could result in a serious injury or death? I cannot inspect my car and could be ticketed in my state for not having an inspection. An airbag sensor not working or not detecting a passenger is a major concern and they will not address this issue. There\u2019s forums dedicated to this issue. I even said it\u2019s fine I would buy it if it\u2019s not recalled and they simply said we don\u2019t or won\u2019t make them anymore. I don\u2019t know what I\u2019m suppose to do? The make and models listed on the document includes: 2007 GMC Acadia and Saturn Outlook, 2007-2009 Cadillac CTS, SRX, and STS, 2009 Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia and Saturn. The special coverage adjustment covers the condition described for a period of 10 years or 120,000 miles, whichever comes first. I sent a letter to the Cadillac Customer Service Complaint Department asking GM to pay for half of the repair bill ($1,685) but was denied stating that the special coverage had expired and that my vin number was not included in the special coverage adjustment document. At that time, I told the reviewing agent that according to my written document all service maintenance has been completed timely by the same dealership, my average car mileage is 5,600 per year so retirees will surpass the 10 years before the 120,000 miles, and GM did not capture all VIN#'s since my car has such low mileage. THERE WERE CARS LINED UP TO EXIT THE PARKING RAMP BEHIND ME.  I WAS FORTUNATE TO ACT QUICKLY AND USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO PREVENT THE CAR FROM ROLLING INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. I HAD TO GET ASSISTANCE FROM OTHER DRIVERS AND SECURITY GUARDS TO HELP PUSH THE CAR OUT OF THE RAMP EXIT LANE.  WITH NO NOTICE OF THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE I COULD HAVE BEEN ON THE FREEWAY AND HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING.  AS IT IS, I WAS LUCKY NOT TO HAVE ROLLED BACK INTO OTHER CARS.   I CALLED THE DEALER TO REPORT THE ISSUE AND THEY SAID IT SOUNDED LIKE A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM.  I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A SERVICE STATION WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACE AT A COST OF OVER $4,000.00. THERE WERE NO \"CHECK ENGINE\" LIGHTS REGARDING THE TRANSMISSION.  THE TRANSMISSION SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED AT MY MILEAGE AND USE RATE.  THE DEALERSHIP  TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL AND THAT NO-ONE ELSE HAD EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE.  I FIND HUNDREDS OF REPORTS OF THIS ISSUE ONLINE.  AT THE PRICE I PAID FOR THIS CAR IT SHOULD HAVE LASTED ANOTHER 10 YEAR.   THERE WERE NO WARNINGS THAT MY TRANSMISSION WAS FAILING. A TRANSMISSION SHOULD NOT DIE AT LESS THAN 100,000 MILES. THERE ARE NUMEROUS REPORTS SHOWING THAT THIS PROBLEM IS NOT UNIQUE TO MY CAR. NOISE COMES FROM REAR OF VEHICLE.\"    THE RESOLUTION AT THE TIME WAS TO DO \"AS PER DOCUMENT #3402587 FLUSHED GEAR OIL FROM REAR DIFF AND REPLACED WITH AN UPDATED FLUID.   2ND SERVICE CAME ON 3/21/17 AT 64,269 MILES  THE PROBLEM WAS DESCRIBED AT THE SERVICE APPT TO \"DIAGNOSE GRAVELY GRINDING SOUND FROM REAR OF VEHICLE WHEN MAKING TIGHT TURNS AT PARKING SPEEDS.  ALSO NOTICEABLE 25-30 MPH.\"  THE DIAGNOSIS AND RESOLUTION THIS TIME WAS AGAIN \"TEST DROVE FOR GRINDING NOISE WHILE MAKING TIGHT TURNS.  WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE CONCERN FOUND COMING FROM REAR DIFF.  PER DOC ID 4013532 RECOMMEND SERVICING REAR DIFF WITH NEW FLUID.  NEW FLUID HAS ADDITIVE THAT WILL LAST LONGER AND DOES NOT BREAK DOWN OVER TIME.  SERVICED REAR DIFF AND TEST DROVE FOUND NOISE WENT AWAY, NO OTHER REPAIR NEEDED.\"  3RD SERVICE CAME AT 6/18/18, AT 71,678 MILES.  THE CAR IS PRESENTLY IN THE SHOP FOR DIAGNOSIS AND SERVICE. GM AND DEALERSHIP REFUSE TO COVER THE ENTIRE COST OF REPLACING TIMING CHAIN AND DENY THERE IS A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT. THEY SAID MY TRANSMISSION WAS RUINED AND IT WOULD COST ME 3995 TO REPAIR IT. NEEDLESS TO SAY, THE CAR WASN'T WORTH THE INVESTMENT. I HAD ONSTAR FOR THE ENTIRE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. I NEVER RECEIVED ANY DIAGNOSTIC WARNINGS REGARDING MY TRANSMISSION. I ALSO TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER FOR REGULAR SERVICE. NEVER WAS I INFORMED THAT MY TRANSMISSION WAS BEGINNING TO FAIL. IN FACT, THE CAR HAD BEEN TO THE DEALER AT 98000 MILES FOR SERVICE. THERE WERE NO WARNINGS AT THAT TIME THAT MY TRANSMISSION WAS FAILING. A TRANSMISSION SHOULD NOT DIE AT 101,000 MILES. AFTER THE ALIGNMENT, THE CAR RAN PRETTY GOOD, UNTIL IT RAN OVER A SMALL BUMP ON THE ROAD. WHEN I RAN OVER THE BUMP, THE CAR SUDDENLY RAN TOWARD THE RIGHT. I TRIED TO TURN LEFT, BUT IT DIDN'T WORK FOR ABOUT HALF A SECOND. AFTER HALF A SECOND, I CONTROLLED THE CAR, AND IT WORKED FINE. I MADE AN U TURN, AND WENT TO THAT PLACE AGAIN, AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I WENT HOME, GRAB MY METER AND MY THERMOMETER, AND WENT BACK TO THAT PLACE. THE ROAD TEMPERATURE WAS 33.1 DEGREES, AND THERE WAS NO ICE ON THE ROAD. THE BUMP WAS ABOUT 4 INCHES OVER THE ROAD. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THERE WAS NO SIGN OF FLUID LEAKAGE AND THAT THE DIFFERENTIAL WAS FULL OF FLUID WHEN IT WAS REMOVED.   THE DIFFERENTIAL HAS BEEN REPLACED AND THERE HAS BEEN NO PROBLEM SINCE.    FORTUNATELY THE CAR DID NOT SKID OFF THE ROAD.
