My vehicle was recently diagnosed by SERRA CHEVROLET as having a failed module, which has rendered numerous essential features inoperative. This is not an isolated incident; there is clear evidence of a widespread failure affecting thousands of GM and Chevrolet owners. The failure of this module creates significant safety risks, including: * Loss of Emergency Services: The OnStar SOS button and automatic crash response are disabled, leaving me without a lifeline in the event of an accident. * Systemic Vehicle Malfunctions: This module is deeply integrated into the vehicle’s architecture. Its failure has caused [list your specific issues, e.g., "Check Engine" lights, heads-up display failure, and battery drainage]. * Disabled Connectivity: Core features I paid a premium for, such as navigation, remote start, and Wi-Fi, are now "bricked". It is unacceptable that a flagship $80,000+ vehicle is operating in a degraded and potentially dangerous state due to a known hardware defect. I am requesting that GM take immediate responsibility for this repair at no cost to me, regardless of warranty status, as this is a fundamental safety issue. Please provide a timeline on how GM intends to rectify this widespread defect. I look forward to your prompt response. The vehicle has experienced repeated sudden battery drain & no-start events, occurring approximately once per week. These failures happen without warning, sometimes after the vehicle is parked for as little as 6 hrs. All dealer updates & software campaigns were completed. Despite this, the vehicle continued to suffer no-start events. After further troubleshooting, we removed fuse F35RA (which powers only the hands-free liftgate module). Once this fuse was removed, the issue immediately stopped — confirming that the parasitic draw originates from the liftgate module, consistent with GM Technical Service Bulletin 24-NA-039. This indicates a known electrical defect. This problem has caused multiple safety concerns: The vehicle has left my family stranded late at night. My husband works in Chicago & relies on this vehicle. A sudden no-start or complete electrical failure in that environment is dangerous. We were unable to transport our children to scheduled activities due to the vehicle being completely dead. Repeated deep discharges are damaging the battery we purchased only months ago. A family vehicle shouldn't unpredictably become inoperative. This is not normal wear — it's a safety-critical electrical defect that could strand owners in unsafe conditions, especially in winter climates. GM hasn't issued a recall for this issue despite issuing a TSB documenting the defective behavior. The frequency & severity of electrical failure suggest this should be investigated as a potential recall. I'm requesting NHTSA review this matter due to the safety implications & the repeated nature of the failures. Incidents: No-start after 6 hours parked at a friend’s home Multiple weekly no-start events before fuse removal Occurred before & after software updates were performed Location: Incidents occurred both at home & away from home. We did not purchase a used, low-budget vehicle; we invested a life-altering sum of EIGHTY-SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS in what we expected to be a safe, reliable family SUV. Instead, we have received a death trap that the dealership refuses to fix permanently. This vehicle is fundamentally unsafe to operate. We have brought it to your dealership four (4) times for the same critical safety issues, and each time, we receive the same insulting explanation: a "software update" or "recalibration." These are not fixes; they are negligent bandaids designed to clear error codes long enough for us to drive off the lot. We are experiencing terrifying, random SYSTEM FAILURES while driving: "Service ESC" warning "Forward Collision System Unavailable" "BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE 62MPH TOP SPEED" Let me be unequivocally clear: the braking system has failed twice while my wife and three young children were inside the vehicle, nearly resulting in fatal collisions on the freeway and city streets. This is not an inconvenience; this is a life-threatening defect that you have failed to remedy. The negligence displayed by returning this vehicle to us in an unsafe condition is staggering. The financial and personal toll is immense and completely unacceptable: We have paid for tow trucks three times. We have missed work, leading to a formal warning for my wife's employment. We have incurred costs for rental vehicles and arranging essential transportation for medical appointments and school runs. The vehicle almost rolled, and we were lucky that no vehicles were behind us or we would have been rearended. At that time, we pulled over and the vehicle was towed to the service department at the local dealership. Just days before, the windshield wipers completely failed while driving, in the middle of a downpour. I had to pull the vehicle over and wait for the rain to calm before returning home. Also, the entire display panel went blank while driving, as if the vehicle was turned off. I was unable to determine speed etc. There had been a cascade of odd malfunctions days prior to the major events, the clock stopped working, the compass stopped working. The service department informed me that there was a "Bad Valve Body." I was told by the service manager that he had "never heard" of a vehicle doing this. My children and I are terrified to get back in the vehicle, as we almost had what could have been a fatal accident. I am in contact with GM/Chevrolet on possible remedies. I should note again that there are several other defects with the vehicle, that all seem to surround microchip/electrical components. They all seemed to have failed at once, which leads me to believe there is a larger systemic problem with this vehicle, the processors, and components. Again, this was a sudden cascade of failures. I have video of the windshield wipers non-functional during the rain. I was able to take the video after I had stopped. This is exceptionally dangerous. This vehicle is available for inspection. While the dealer has not been able to duplicate some of the issues, they have witnessed the flashing screen and I have provided videos of the dashboard when in failure mode. While I know one can't rely solely on the park assistance features, the inconsistency of this system poses great risk for pedestrians and property damage. The dealer stated that the manufacturer of my car is aware of this problem but does not have a solution. There have been no accidents to date so the issue is on-going. Description of problems: 1-The Park Assist system often does not detect large vehicles, walls, trees, etc. that are within inches of my vehicle. On other occasions the alert system works fine. I back the Tahoe into our garage at least once every day. This vehicle does not perform consistently under the same circumstances. Some days the Park Assist function works well and other days it seems to sense nothing behind me. 2- A flashing white dot sometimes appears in the center of the camera screen when backing up. In most cases the Park Assist is not functioning when the flashing dot appears. (A video of this condition was provided to the dealer.) 3-My car is equipped with 2 types of warning signals indicating when there is a potential collision: a.Option 1: Vibrating driver’s seat b.Option 2: Audible beeps I prefer audible beeps and always select Option 2. Came in January 22, 2022 as a 22 model year. Its a 4 wheel drive with the Duramax diesel option. Ran great until around 6000 miles where I started to experience a miriad of electril issues including a completely malfunction anti collision system, transmission problems, several electrical problems and worst of all "Reduced Acceleration" otherwise known as "Limp Mode" in diesels. The check engine light came on also and my MPG dropped from 18-28 mpg to 12 mpg.The dealer told me that they were backed up with diesel trucks and to hold off. On July 8, 2022, the truck went into limp mode while trying to accerae onto a major highway. I had the horn blown at me and almost got rearended trying to get on the highway. I had nowhere to go and it took me about two minutes to get up to 60mph. I got off the highway and limped to the dealership. The truck spent 122 days in the dealership and despite me trying to lemon the truck, they said it was fixed after around 110 days. I was forced to pick it up. It broke down in the parking lot before I could drive out of the dealership. I am now taking action agaisnt GM. This is not a Chevrolet issue with the dealership but GM. Their factory reps rebuilt some wiring harness in my truck. Something to do with the transmission module. Again, I dont have a problem with the dealer. The truck seems to be running fine but I have notice some strange behavior with the forward anti collision system and the auto brake. It doesn’t work all the time. I can,t tell when it will work and if it works at all. I will be bringing the truck back to the dealership. Now, this is a major problem because im not the only one complaining about the anti collision system. I know someone who says his same year diesel Chevy pickup has an issue with the camera not working in the front and he doesn’t trust the anti collision system as well and he is in the business. I only needed to go a short distance, so I went to my destination and turned the vehicle off. When I returned to the vehicle (approx 15 minutes later) and started the vehicle the instrument cluster was working again. This occurred another 4 or 5 times over the following 4+/- weeks. I made a service appointment with a Chevy dealer. There were reportedly no codes identifying an issue, but Chevy had a bulletin ("22-na-130"), which I believe was a software update to address various things, including a blank screen, and the vehicle was "reprogrammed". Now a week after this service appointment, the same issue occurred again. Based on my discussions with the Chevy dealer's service department, I have little confidence they can address this issue without Chevy's assistance and based on the process that was described Chevy's assistance for issues such as this may not be addressed expeditiously. As a blank instrument cluster results in the driving not having access to the speed the vehicle is traveling or any other performance metrics of the vehicle I believe this is a serious safety issue. While I have driven the vehicle in this condition, it is only because I was going short distances on local roads where one cannot travel over 25 or 30 MPH. If I was going to be driving on a highway, the vehicle would be unusable. Please investigate this issue, as Chevy's bulletin "22-na-130" and the associated software update has clearly not addressed the issue, and cause Chevy to develop a fix for the issue and recall all impacted vehicles for updating.
