At the time I picked the vehicle up from the repair facility, the tire pressure monitoring system warning light was already illuminated. I notified the repair facility and was told to drive the vehicle for approximately 10 minutes and the warning would clear itself. I have video documentation related to this interaction. After the repairs, additional problems began appearing including: * Service AWD warning * Traction control warning indicators * Ongoing drivetrain concerns * Diagnosis involving transfer case/internal damage and burnt fluid The vehicle was later reported to have transfer case clutch failure and internal drivetrain-related issues despite the original repair scope not documenting drivetrain damage. My concern is that the post-repair warnings and drivetrain symptoms may indicate improper inspection, repair, reassembly, fluid servicing, calibration, or unresolved damage related to the repair process. I was told twice one time the part they did not know when it would arrive. I kept calling. It was very hard to get a hold of the dealership Chrysler Dodge ram country and Fort Stockton, Texas. Called again last Friday conveniently. The part had been incorrectly ordered and that day it was available. They were going to have a tech repair it that day. I told them to give me a call because I would be working out of town. They did not call but they took my vehicle to my employer and left it there and left the keys with the coworker. Call them back on Monday because now I had the auto start light on and still the traction light on. Explain to them that if it could have been part of the ABS module they had supposedly replaced. They tried to convince me that it did not. So needless to say I had to replace a vacuum pump which is in the process but as the gentleman that was going to repair that took a look at the ABS module which was old. No signs of anything being new or even any of the components being removed. No signs of it being touched. I googled the part number on the abs module which came up as a recall item. So the original part was still in my vehicle which was the original part that had a recall. The item was never replaced as they had told me which could have led to a major hazard or possibly even death of myself, family, or even another vehicle causing an accident. They took it upon themselves to put myself in danger and anybody else on the roads along with anybody. I might have been carrying in my vehicle by lying that they had replaced that part. Turns out there was an oil leak, manifold leak and the starter died. I had to tow my car. Called the Dodge company, and they flat out said they could NOT HELP me and would not do an escalation because I didn't bring it to a Dodge Dealer but \"who knew\" I would have all these problems, thought it could be something simple and $2200 later. They were so rude, unhelpful and just horrible service. Keep repeating they would not help me or even have a conversation? The sad part is I really love this vehicle. There needs to be an investigation to see if other customers are having these problems because then it's a manufacturing issue. I know they are a huge company and I just a person to them. The engine is the 3.6L V6 Pentastar, which is standard in Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and Plymouth vehicles and this is a defect known to the manufacturer. My mechanic informed me that both Dodge and the current manufacturer of the engine had tried and failed to correct the problem, because it is an actual design flaw. Caused in part, by the oil cooler being constructed of plastic and mounted at the top of the engine, it is subject to heat and warping which causes the failure. . Dealership confirmed it was \"large leak coming from back of engine. upon further inspection leak is coming from rear heater coolant pipes. replaced coolant pipes and found coolant leaks from rear heater hoses. replaced rear heater hoses\" The issue with the heater hoses having to be replaced is that the car is assembled so that it has to be completely lifted and split in 2 to be able to do the work. Because of the position of the hoses, there are parts of the frame of the car that rub against those hoses and pipes creating damage and leaks, and there is no easy way to repair the damage that is caused by manufacturer positioning. Examination results reported a flawed electromechanical steering gearbox. Price to repair including parts, upwards of 4,000 dollars. I have a prepaid warranty covering repairs and parts. Parts availability from the Chrysler corporation are the issue. The dealership Orange Park Chrysler Jeep Dodge was informed AND examined the vehicle themselves. They related to me the \"part isn't available\". I returned to the Goodyear dealership. Their response is the same. Neither factory nor aftermarket steering gearbox are available for purchase. Therein lies the reason for this report from me. I've written emails to Chrysler (stellantis) customer service 3 times. The 3rd time being today October 16th. They responded once shortly after the October 4th email. Since then quiet as a church mouse. So far the steering gearbox just pops and makes grinding noises. I'm 67 years old and existing on disability payments. I can't get the parts. I still owe 32,000 plus (9650 for warranty coverage). So I CAN'T get rid of it. If it fails while being driven, State Farm won't cover the damages because I KNEW the vehicle was needing repairs and continued to drive it. I'm FORCED to drive it because of parts UNAVAILABLE by Chrysler or the aftermarket. I can't afford a rental car for what appears to be an EXTENDED period of time. I can't attach the 3 emails here. There was no prior warning to the light coming on. This is a car with just over 40k miles on it and is a used Dodge certified car. We had to wait several weeks for an appointment at our local Dodge dealership at which time they confirmed the steering rack is defective. The part was at least 60 days out, indicating to me that this is an issue with other vehicles as well. Fast forward to last week and we were informed the part was in and we could have the car back by the end of this week. However, yesterday (5/10/2023) we received a call that the part that was delivered to the dealership was also defective. They got the part installed, but could not get the computer to recognize it. Currently we do not have a timeline on when a new, hopefully not defective, part will be delivered. I purchased it used last year from a Chrysler dealer in Newcastle, Maine. Today, as I was driving along the road my car completely shut off. It was totally without any power at, thankfully, only 35-40 mph. I had no brakes, no power steering, no lights, including flashers, NOTHING. I was able to get partially off the road but was in a very precarious place and had to call 911 to get a police car to come to keep from being hit by traffic. When the tow truck got there, I knew that the Neutral Engagement button needed to be pushed in to pull the car onto the flatbed and advised the driver. He proceeded to push the release button, but nothing happened until he wiggled the shift level. When he did that, the electrical came back on and the car asked for the key fob to start the car. It then started to all our amazement. There is no apparent reason for this vehicle to have lost all power and electrical when it did. This is a very, very unsafe situation. If I had been in heavy traffic and going much faster the story might have been very tragic. There is no way I would have been able to get off the highway, especially if I had to cross a lane or two. I had all I could do to steer it at 35. I am sending a copy of this letter to Consumer Reports, the NHTSA, and a local Chrysler dealer. I am hoping the dealer might have some idea of what may be happening so that I can make sure it doesn\u2019t happen again. I think you need to find out and see what you can come up with as well. This is a serious safety problem that needs your immediate attention. Please get back to me with your findings asap. Thank you. Sincerely, [XXX] cc. I hope Dodge does the right thing and makes a recall on this matter since I have seen this is a very common problem and through searching on the internet I come to find out its due to water entering the light fixture and causing a shortage in the light. I WAS ABLE TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKES TO PREVENT THE CAR FROM ROLLING BACKWARDS. THERE WERE NO ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE CAR HAD BEEN OPERATING AT NORMAL TEMPERATURE. AFTER TRYING TO THE RESTART THE CAR, THE ENGINE AT FIRST BEGAN TO OPERATE, THEN ALMOST IMMEDIATELY HESITATED AND DIED. I TRIED AGAIN WITH THE SAME RESULTS, AND EVEN ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE GAS PEDAL TO NO AVAIL. AS SOMEONE WITH SOME PREVIOUS MECHANICAL EXPERIENCE, IT SEEMED TO ME THAT IT WAS A FUEL DELIVERY PROBLEM. THE CAR HAD NEARLY HALF A TANK OF GAS HOWEVER. I POPPED THE HOOD AND OBSERVED NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY THAT WOULD INDICATE ANY PROBLEMS. THERE WAS OIL IN THE CRANKCASE AND AMPLE COOLANT. MY WIFE AND I DECIDED TO WAIT AND LET THE ENGINE AND VEHICLE COOL DOWN SINCE IT WAS OVER 90 DEGREES OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE. AFTER ABOUT 20 MINUTES, I RESTARTED THE CAR WITHOUT PROBLEM AND CONTINUED ON MY WAY. THE CAR HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN IN AUTOMATIC MODE BUT HAD SHIFTED TO THE LOWER GEARS. I DECIDED TO PUT THE TRANSMISSION IN MANUAL MODE AND KEEP THE CAR IN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR DUE TO THE STEEP TERRAIN. WE HAD NO PROBLEMS THE REST OF THE WAY. WE WERE BEYOND CELL PHONE RANGE ON A VERY ISOLATED ROAD AND IT WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY DIFFICULT TO OBTAIN A TOW, SO I AM VERY GRATEFUL THE CAR CONTINUED TO OPERATE AFTER OUR INITIAL PROBLEM.
