The Audio Control Module software remains corrupted, causing a severe intermittent parasitic drain. The radio frequently locks up, and roughly once a week, it remains actively powered on for 10 minutes after the ignition is turned off, keys are removed, and doors are locked. This has permanently destroyed my 12-volt battery, forcing me to rely on a trickle charger daily. On XXX, I took the truck to Mt. Orab Ford (Ohio) under Invoice #XXX for a separate recall (Ford 26C10). They completed the hitch recall but explicitly refused to address the failed safety recall 24S59 or the resulting battery damage. The official invoice they handed me falsely logs line item B as 'GBATT BATTERY TESTED GREEN AT THIS TIME.' However, I forced the Service Manager, Kevin Wilmoth, to physically verify the battery in the parking lot. The handheld tester printout he handed me directly contradicts their official invoice, explicitly stating 'GOOD RECHARGE' with a resting voltage of only 12.16V and a 45% State of Charge. A healthy 12V battery should rest between 12.6V and 12.8V; at 12.16V with a 45% charge, the system is severely drained and starved for power. The dealership printed 'Tested Green' on the invoice before actually testing it, and Kevin Wilmoth has since refused my email request for copies of the vehicle's OASIS history and FDRS global diagnostic logs to withhold the electronic record of these faults.Contacted Ford Corp., given a claim #, promised call back in 24hrs.completely failed to respond, leaving me stranded with a severe, un-remedied safety hazard. It corrects the mileage in # XXX: the odometer at the XXX collision was approximately 68,000 miles (a current reading was auto-populated into the incident field on the prior form), and the vehicle's current odometer is 119,379 miles. I request that the Office of Defects Investigation open a Preliminary Evaluation of the Maverick Hybrid braking/ABS system. I first reported a braking concern to the selling Ford dealer in spring 2025 at approximately 35,000 miles, while the vehicle was still under the 3-year/36,000-mile warranty; Ford's applicable service bulletin (MC-XXX) was not applied. Ford's OASIS system later confirmed active fault codes C052E and U0418 when the vehicle was returned to me unrepaired on XXX6. The defect has persisted through four repair attempts and more than 50 days out of service. On XXX, another vehicle crossed multiple lanes of traffic across my path. I applied the brakes and the vehicle did not stop as it should have, and I struck the crossing vehicle (APD Crash Report # XXX; I was assigned no driver error). This loss of stopping capability is the same failure mode I have experienced repeatedly and that remains unrepaired. Ford's own recall record documents its knowledge of Maverick braking-system defects: Recall 22V-730 addressed the Maverick ABS module transmitting an incorrect signal; Recall 25V-124 was a follow-up after Ford determined the earlier software remedy had not been correctly installed even though dealer records showed the repair completed, and Ford disclosed to NHTSA in December 2024 that dealer software-repair records could be inaccurate. When this would happen I would have no interior lights when I opened the doors and could not start the vehicle or check any information, tire pressure, fuel, etc through my phone app. So charge battery and drive and the message goes away. The dealer did replace the battery once since it was defective. I kept that truck for 26 months and then purchased a 2024 Maverick hybrid in Feb '24 thinking this issue would be resolved. Nope, issue was worse if anything. Started getting the same issue in just a few months. Dealer checked and replaced a defective battery in October 2024. Within 5 weeks started getting the same issues again. Dealer said battery checks good. There seems to be either a parasitic drain on the battery, a software issue regarding the charging of the battery or completely defective flooded batteries. In April 2025 Ford must have realized a problem because they started installing an AGM in the factory on the hybrids. they also issued SSM 53801 which was a software update on the A?C module that could be causing a parasitic drain. I had that done TWICE. Still have the same issue. The dealer says they can find nothing wrong and says I just need to drive my vehicle more, keep it on a battery maintainer and carry a power pack to jump start in case it doesn't start. I have been on a website [XXX] since July 2021 and this has been overwhelmingly the number one complaint about the Maverick hybrid. Ford was supposed to have had a recall in the first quarter for a software update to deal with a deeper charge of the battery but that never happened. We imply that the government step in and have Ford do a recall to replace all the defective flooded batteries with the AGM that they are now installing on the 2025's and/or do the software update promised. We have brought this vehicle to the dealer where they have replaced the battery at least once maybe twice, and the last time confirmed to us that there is not yet a recall but might turn into one because it is a known safety issue and the manufacturer has issued them specific codes and warnings and authorized them to replace and test battery more frequently than usual due to the issue and that a workaround will be announced from the manufacturers to the dealers sometime in 2025. When I operate the windshield washer, the washer fluid tank fully drains in about ten seconds. I can visually see the fluid level fall rapidly. Washer fluid sprays at a high velocity on my windshield until the tank is empty. There is no evidence of a fluid leak. Last week, I took the truck to a local Ford dealer. They were the ones who discovered the rapidly draining tank and they escorted me from the lounge area to the shop and showed it to me. Both the service writer and three mechanics standing at my truck stated that they had never seen anything like that occur before. The service writer brought over the service manager, who took a look and suggested that perhaps there was a problem with the nozzles. He also stated that he had never seen this issue before. The dealership ordered new nozzles. I returned to the dealership this afternoon to have the replacement nozzles installed. When the function of the windshield washer was tested, the bottle again drained in about ten seconds. One of the technicians then tested a new Ford F150 that is in the shop today and it also drained rapidly. I asked that a new Maverick on the lot be tested, which the dealership immediately did, and it also drained in about ten seconds. Evidently, Ford has an issue with this function on some of their new vehicles. Windshield washing is an important safety feature and it is not functioning as it should on these three tested vehicles. This problem was observed and verified as never having been seen before by a Ford service writer, three Ford mechanics, and a Ford service manager. A subsequent time, mine abruptly slowed under similar conditions and displayed the red imminent crash warning. A third time, it slowed abruptly on the freeway when a vehicle to the right front slowed. The fourth failure was on [XXX], headed [XXX] toward Fremont, when the vehicle, without any warning or signal on the screen, braked abruptly when I was in the express lane and traveling between 65 and 70 mph. The trucklet braked precipitously, and I quickly pulled past some pylons into a construction shoulder area to avoid a chain reaction collision! In a couple minutes it seemed to indicate things were normal, and I waited some minutes until I could re-enter the freeway from the left into the high speed express lane (!) and have been able to drive the next couple hundred miles without these jarring sorts of malfunctions. These constitute 4 separate incidents, three of which could have precipitated accidents. Who knows what's next? I have a service appointment for tomorrow morning to have the dealer's service department look at the issues I'm reporting. [XXX] [XXX] (land line). That same night, approximately 20 yards before an upcoming stop sign, I got a big red triangle message on the dash saying STOP SAFELY NOW. When I finally got stopped at the STOP sign, everything shut down. No accelerator, now power and the transmission dial locked after I put it in Park. I could not get it in Neutral to push it out of the intersection. Since it is a front wheel drive vehicle, the front wheels locked also. Thank goodness my husband was with me, family members were traveling behind me AND I know a tow truck owner. Tow truck owner came came and used a code reader. It indicated that there were 9 errors related to HYBRID. He was able to clear 6 of them, but the truck still wouldn't start. He had to drag it up onto the flat bed because the front wheel were locked. He towed it to a local Ford Dealership. They initially said the smart junction box (a module that controls the hybrid battery) had a bad circuit and needed to be replaced (I'm not sure if they meant the smart junction box or the circuit...). The next day, the dealership called again and said they replaced the control module for the Hybrid Battery System. I got the truck back on the 4th day with no charge as everything was covered by warranty, including the tow. Overall, I was satisfied with how the dealership handled the issue. However, the incident seems a bad way to start an automobile relationship. In a group forum for Ford Maverick Hybrid Owners, I met a man who said the same thing happened to him on the highway! The vehicle slowed so quickly he was almost rear-ended by a tractor trailer. If it had to happen to me, I'm glad it happened on a rural back road vs. the four lane highway where I commute approximately 300 miles over 5 days per week. That's my concern - I am worried the same thing might happen to me on the highway with different results than the first time!","products":[{"type":"Vehicle","productYear":"2024","productMake":"FORD","productModel":"MAVERICK HYBRID","manufacturer":"Ford Motor Company"}]},{"odiNumber":11580559,"manufacturer":"Ford Motor Company","crash":false,"fire":false,"numberOfInjuries":0,"numberOfDeaths":0,"dateOfIncident":"04/01/2024","dateComplaintFiled":"04/01/2024","vin":"3FTTW8H32RR","components":"WHEELS","summary":"The vehicles tpms system gives an intermittent communications failure warning","products":[{"type":"Vehicle","productYear":"2024","productMake":"FORD","productModel":"MAVERICK HYBRID","manufacturer":"Ford Motor Company"}]},{"odiNumber":11576927,"manufacturer":"Ford Motor Company","crash":false,"fire":false,"numberOfInjuries":0,"numberOfDeaths":0,"dateOfIncident":"03/07/2024","dateComplaintFiled":"03/12/2024","vin":"3FTTW8M31RR","components":"FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM","summary":"There is a small gasoline leak around the filler tube going to the fuel tank. I'd stopped for gas and upon returning to the highway [XXX]) the vehicle, still using cruise and in ECO mode, experienced an extreme reduction in power and the check engine light illuminated. I pulled over to the shoulder and shut down the engine; restarted the engine and tried to resume driving while changing to normal mode and not using cruise control. The check engine lights was still illuminated and the vehicle would not accelerate and could only travel at about 30 mph. Pulled off the highway at the next exit and had the vehicle towed to a Ford dealership in Birmingham AL. At the dealership, I informed the service advisor about the check engine light and that the Ford app indicated a problem with the high voltage battery coolant pump. During the initial troubleshoot, the mechanic relayed to me the following three potential faults: the high voltage battery cooling pump, a pump in the transmission, and a fault with the battery electronic control module (BECM). The two pumps were replaced and the BECM fault cleared, see attached service invoice. I picked up the vehicle on [XXX] and drove back to Georgia without issue. The odometer currently indicates 869 miles with no issues. Since the vehicle had limited power and was unable to accelerate, especially on an interstate, I consider this type of failure a safety issue.
