I am concerned that Ford's response has been inadequate given the known nature of this defect. We had it scanned for codes even though nothing was showing up on the dashboard, and a code of U2107-68 came up,  which doesn't make sense.  This appears to be a widespread and recurring problem rather than an isolated incident. This behavior is not normal and raises serious concerns regarding drivability, safety, and long-term damage to the transmission. Given how common this issue appears to be among 2022 Ford Edge vehicles, I strongly believe this warrants further investigation and the establishment of a recall. Owners should not be financially responsible for a known and recurring manufacturing defect. I am requesting that Ford address this issue promptly and take responsibility for repairs associated with this problem. This too me seemed like a very serious alert. I immediately called the dealer and brought the vehicle in to have it looked at.   During the call the dealership technician confirmed for me that the problem had persisted for a couple of days prior and was concerned that I just found out about it.   Naturally the day I took it in the light went off. The technician looked at it for over a day and ultimately said they could not determine the cause. They then advised me to continue driving the vehicle and only return when the warning appears again.   I called Ford to get their take on this problem and to ask for help, and I got the same response, that there is nothing that the dealer can do unless the light is actively on.   This contradicts fords own safety warning and leaves me driving a vehicle that may have a non-functional airbag system. I am reporting this because it appears to be a potential safety defect, and the dealership was unable to repair it.   I am not sure if this is a defect of the airbag system itself, or the system that monitors the safety of the vehicle. If there is a couple days of specific warnings that ford and the dealer has access too, I wouldn't think that they would need the light to be actively on for diagnosis. Apparently there is no federal standard for horn decibel levels on automobiles.  I travel with small grandchildren in this car and feel this makes it unsafe, as many, many others do after researching this.  It is a disaster just waiting to happen.  Can you confirm that there are no regulations for automobile horns other than that they work?  I just wanted to bring this up as it is dangerous to drove a vehicle like this.  Interested in knowing if you have received any other complaints.  Most of the research i have done shows owners actually having the horn assembly removed and replaced with one that actually works correctly at their own expense. Put car on hoist and checked obvious  spots  nothing found. Provided loaner and after determining  differential  was the problem.  (almost $5000.00). Problem repaired next day. Had car about 2 weeks and clunking appeared when we were 3 hours away from Dealer. Called and made it to the dealer before  closing.  Clunking was noticed and this time at the dealer the transfer case was the issue.  (Another $5000.00). They said this was the  cause of the differential problems.  After waiting for a week  for ford to release a new transfer case,  the car was again  repaired.  The mileage range of 400 to 1000 was given for the parts to get back in sync and stop making the clunking.  We have now have about 600 miles after  the last repair and an occasional  clunking is still appearing.  One more note. We will be traveling  to Michigan from Florida  in 2 weeks. (1771 miles).  Is this car a lemon? We live 4 hours away from the dealer and when I made the appointment to have it checked, that morning before leaving home, my husband went to help me pack afew items in the back and the door slammed so hard and hit him in the head causing a small laceration, headache and neck discomfort. At that point, the door did not stay open at all and slammed closed hard, with all the weight of the door.  The dealer did not have the part and told me to be careful until fixed.  I am afraid to use the back area now because it is hard for me to hold the door open to use the back.  The door slams with such strong force that it could cause great bodily injury if you were caught there when the door slammed shut. The part was ordered the same day on 10/14/22 and I did not get an appointment until 11/2/22 to get it fixed. We pulled over immediately and one kayak landed, still attached to the bars, in the left 2 lanes of the highway while the 2nd kayak landed in the middle of the highway, close to the right 2 lanes.  We ran out into the freeway to get the kayak out of the road and are very lucky that no one hit it, was hit by it or hit us in the process! One of our kayaks is a complete loss, the roof rack system, including the Thule Hullavators are also a total loss and there is damage to the roof of the car as well. We are working with State Farm to repair the car  There was zero warning this would or could happen though afterwards we have been able to find complaints on the Better Business Bureau regarding this exact thing happening to other people! Needless to say we are very upset and saddened by the loss of our property. Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated as clearly there are others who have been harmed in this way by Yakima's product. The dealer told me that Ford relocated the foot sensor farther towards the back of the vehicle following consumer complaints that it was too hard to active with your foot, as you had to extend your foot too far under the vehicle.  This has now caused the lift gate to descend while you are loading/unloading cargo, without you intentionally activating it.  This can pose an injury danger when the lift gate hits your back and/or head suddenly.  The dealer deactivate the sensor for me, but Ford would not pay to have this done.  The dealer did not charge me, and considered it a courtesy. This is an engineering fault that should be corrected by Ford before unsuspecting users are injured when the lift gate suddenly, and unexpectedly, closed down on them.  I found Ford's attitude towards the dealer was arrogant.
