I was told at the mechanic that there is a hairline crack at the top of the fuel pump housing. The transfer tube was hung up on the float, causing false fuel tank readings. Had I been driving the car it could have caught fire which would have been disastrous and possibly fatal to myself and others around me. I bought this car in 2019. The white paint is starting to flake off. The car is starting to rust. In May 2026, while driving in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, my vehicle suddenly experienced a complete loss of propulsion. Multiple warning lights illuminated on the dashboard simultaneously. Although the engine would rev and the vehicle could be shifted into gear, it would not move properly and became unsafe to operate.  The vehicle left me stranded away from home and required towing. I incurred significant expenses for towing, diagnostic fees, transportation, lodging, and related costs due to the breakdown.  After diagnosis, I was informed that the CVT transmission had failed and required replacement at an estimated cost of approximately $10,000.  I later learned that Honda had issued Service Bulletins 21-046 and 21-047 concerning CVT belt deterioration and transmission issues in 2016-2020 Honda HR-V vehicles. These bulletins acknowledge that an incorrect PCM value could cause excessive pressure on the CVT belt, potentially leading to partial or complete belt breakage and sudden loss of acceleration. Honda also extended warranty coverage on affected vehicles due to premature CVT belt deterioration.  My vehicle falls within the affected model years and experienced symptoms consistent with those described in Honda\u2019s service information. Despite this, Honda denied my request for goodwill assistance, even though the failure occurred at relatively low mileage for a modern transmission and only shortly after the warranty extension period expired.  I am concerned that this transmission defect creates a safety risk because it can result in sudden loss of acceleration or vehicle propulsion while driving, potentially placing drivers and passengers in dangerous situations. At approximately 104,700 miles, during a routine maintenance visit, the dealer diagnosed a failing CVT transmission. Technicians identified metal debris in the transmission, indicating internal deterioration.  This condition is consistent with Honda Technical Service Bulletin 21-047, which acknowledges CVT-related issues in 2016\u20132019 HR-V models and provides extended coverage for affected vehicles. However, my vehicle was deemed ineligible for coverage because the failure was identified 27 days after the 7-year in-service deadline.  Given that transmission deterioration is progressive, it is likely the issue began within the coverage period. Despite this, Honda declined to provide any goodwill assistance. I was quoted approximately $11,000 for the repair.  This issue also raises safety concerns. A failing transmission can result in loss of power, hesitation, or inability to accelerate, particularly when merging into traffic or crossing intersections. These conditions increase the risk of an accident, especially if failure occurs unexpectedly while driving. The fact that the car no longer holds its position has led me to need to buy a cushion to sit on to see over the steering wheel. This is a huge safety concern because I would have never bought a car that I cannot see over the steering wheel too and nor would I have bought it brand new off the lot. There's also leads to issues where I am constantly needing to adjust my mirrors, adjust my seatbelt, and adjust my steering wheel as well as adjust my distance from the steering wheel. This is wreaking havoc on my mirrors motor and is causing me to break rapidly or not be able to reach the gas pedal if I don't notice that the seat has sunk. When the sea sinks on its own, I am unable to pump it up any higher because it thinks it's at the max amount. I am done forced to get out of the car pump it all the way to the bottom and then pump it all the way to the top. Every time it is a different amount of pumps on the seat lever. This is a huge safety risk while I'm driving. I've also noticed that the seat looks to be leaning while it's on its rails, and the section that sits in the rails while it is at the highest point, don't even look secure I will attach pictures. This situation is particularly difficult for me, as I just finished paying off my car last month and am preparing to retire this year. My plan was for this HR-V to be my retirement vehicle, and facing an unexpected repair so soon is a financial hardship I did not anticipate.  Furthermore, I am aware of the lawsuit filed with the NHTSA concerning paint defects on Honda vehicles. Given that my paint is peeling in the same area identified in that investigation and covered under the prior warranty extension, I respectfully request that Honda extend that same paint warranty coverage to my vehicle as a gesture of goodwill and fairness.  I chose Honda for its reputation for reliability and quality, and until now, I have been very pleased with my HR-V. It would do this almost everyday for no apparent reason leaving the driver (usually my teenage daughters) not knowing how much gas they had left. Also on 8/23/24  a light came on that said check fuel cap along with the yellow check engine light, yellow parking brake and flashing park symbol.  These lights stayed on minus the fuel cap light for about 3 weeks.  They have disappeared with now with only the issue of the disappearing fuel/mileage gauge remaining an off/on issue (but as stated above usually on a daily basis.)  We replaced the fuels cap in case there was an issue and also took it to a Honda dealership on 9/27/24.  They didn't check diagnostics as the other icons had turned off, but the gas gauge was still missing. They said it wouldn't show codes since the icons were missing.  I also called the Honda corporation regarding this safety issue as there are multiple reports of this happening to others on several Honda forums with Honda HRV ranging from 2016-2020. It has been a year and they still tell me the part has been backordered every time I call. We were driving on the freeway when the glass spontaneously shattered. IF I had a child in the backseat of the car, they would have been covered in shards of glass.  -The problem has been confirmed by the dealer AND by Honda themselves. They issued a Priority/Action notice in May 2023 addressing spontaneously exploding back windshields in 2023 Honda HRV's (my model). There has even been one other person report the SAME issue at my Honda dealership. Due to the leak, the compressor is bad and they want more money (enough for a down payment) to replace that. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AMONGST 2019 HRV'S.  DEALERSHIP DOES NOT KNOW WHAT WILL RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THEY PROVIDE CODED THAT SAYS IT WILL BE THE START OF THE RESOLUTION AND CODE CAN BE RAN AFTER THESE ITEMS ARE FIXED TO FIX THE REMAINING ITEMS THAT MIGHT BE CAUSING IT.  $2600 FOR A NOT EVEN 3 YEAR OLD CAR TO BE FIXED FOR A KNOWN ISSUE???? HRV FORUMS HAVE MANY PEOPLE THAT HAVE SPENT THOUSANDS AND THE ISSUE IS STILL NOT RESOLVED.  LIGHTS COMING ON IN THE CAR ON THE ROAD AT NIGHT ARE A SAFETY ISSUE. THIS DEFINITELY NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. I took the car into a dealer in Utah 4 weeks previously and they did recall work on the brakes and fuel line. I don't know if this is still the problem, but something caused the brakes to fail.   I am now unsure if this car will be safe to drive, even after repairs.  I live in a very remote area where the nearest community of any size is 2 hours in either north or south directions.  There is open livestock grazing (horses and cattle)  on the two lane highway and without the ability to brake as needed, this could be deadly for me, my passengers and the livestock. Please look into this. WHEN I ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP, THE TECHNICIAN SAID THAT IT LOOKED LIKE A ROCK HAD HIT IT, AND THAT IS CONSIDERED A ROAD HAZARD, THEREFORE IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I LET THEM KNOW THAT THERE WERE NO CARS AROUND ME AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT, SO I DID NOT THINK IT WAS POSSIBLE FOR A ROCK TO HIT IT. ADDITIONALLY, THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF A ROCK STRIKE, AND THE GLASS HAD ACTUALLY BROKEN IN A WAY THAT THE EDGES WERE RAISED UP FROM THE VEHICLE AND NOT DOWN, WHICH I WOULD ASSUME WOULD BE CONDUCIVE OF A ROCK STRIKE. THEY THEN TOLD ME THAT SUNROOFS DON'T JUST SHATTER ON THEIR OWN, SO SOMETHING HAD TO HAVE HIT IT, AND THAT I SHOULD CLAIM IT ON MY INSURANCE. MY CAR WAS REPAIRED, I PICKED IT UP, AND PAID THE $1,053.45 BILL FOR THE SUNROOF REPLACEMENT OUT OF POCKET. I HAVE SINCE DONE QUITE A BIT OF RESEARCH, AND IT SEEMS LIKE THERE IS IN FACT, A SIGNIFICANT PRECEDENT FOR SUNROOFS SPONTANEOUSLY SHATTERING. I FOUND MULTIPLE INSTANCES, SEVERAL RECALLS FROM OTHER MANUFACTURERS, AS WELL AS MULTIPLE CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS BEING FILED FOR THIS EXACT SITUATION. ADDITIONALLY, I FOUND MULTIPLE ARTICLES AND QUOTES FROM GLASS PROFESSIONALS, AS WELL AS ENGINEERS, STATING THAT IT IS PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR A ROCK THAT HAS BEEN KICKED UP FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE TO ACHIEVE ENOUGH VELOCITY TO SHATTER TEMPERED GLASS ON A HORIZONTAL PLANE. MY OWN OPINION MAY BE IRRELEVANT IN MOTIVATING A MOTOR COMPANY TO IMPROVE OR REPAIR THEIR PRODUCT, BUT I REFER TO THE IDAHO CDL MANUAL AS AN AUTHORITY ON SAFE PRACTICES AND EQUIPMENT FOR MOUNTAIN DRIVING. AFTER MULTIPLE TIMES ATTEMPTING TO GET THE CAR TO START NOW THE LIGHT FOR THE E PARKING BREAK LIGHT FLASHES  AND THE ENGINE START STOP BUTTON LIGHTS WHITE WHEN I ENGAGE THE BREAK PEDDLE. I HAVE CALLED FOR ASSISTANCE BUT HAVE NO FURTHER INFORMATION TO THE PROBLEM AT THIS TIME. I HOPE IT IS JUST MY BATTERY DIEING FROM THE E BREAK, BUT I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THIS COULD KILL THE BATTERY. ONE WAS APPROACHING A TOLL BOOTH; THE OTHER AT A EXIT- WHERE A CAR SUDDENLY STOPPED.THE STEERING WHEEL NEVER VIBRATES AS IT IS SUPPOSED TO AND THE ALERTS ARE RANDOM - SOMETIMES I SEE ON OR HEAR ONE.  THE SETTINGS FOR DISTANCE TO SET ALERTS HAVE NO RELEVANCE.  I HAVE EXHAUSED MY RESOURCES TO DEAL WITH THIS.  THE DEALERSHIP (HERTRICH IN EASTON MD) FALSIFIED A REPORT OF FINDINGS WHEN I TEST DROVE IT WITH THIER MECHANIC.  HE COULDNT EVEN TELL ME HOW IT WAS SUPPOSED TO WORK.  THE REGIONAL REP FOR HONDA TEST DROVE WITH ME TO DEMONSTRATE HOW IT SHOULD WORK - IT PASSED IN ALL BU ONE INSTANCE.  RICHARD, THE NATIONAL REP FOR HONDA WILL NO LONGER RETURN MY CALLS - 800-999-1009 X87147 (CASE [XXX]).  I HAVE EXHAUSTED MY OPTIONS FOR GETTING THIS RESOLVED.
