They do not work correctly.  I know Honda  had them working on my 2017 ridegeline, but engineering changes have made they inoperative.  There is a multitude of complaints by almost every owner as there were none shipped that worked as designed.  Honda support simply ask the owner to adjust the light sensitivity setting (low, med,high) but that is not the issue.  While adjusting sensitivity may control the point at which the lights sense the brightness of on coming traffic, is does nothing to fix the problems.. 1.) problem Honda changes from 30MPH min spped to turn on automatically to 45 MPH.  Useless at 45 MPH turn on, to many back roads where you need them are under 45 mhp. 2.) high beams go off when they sense the oncoming traffic lights, but  alomost 100% of the time they fail to realize oncoming traffic terribly blinding oncoming traffic. 3.) They do not reenable themselves , after taking note, they appear to have a timer such that if they go off, for a set number of seconds (way to long) they may and I mean may re-enable themselves, but by the time they do if they do, the distance traveled before being reenabled is unacceptable. 2017-2020's ridgeline, work as expected, off in oncomng and back on with an sec or 2. 4.). Worst part, Honda continues and continues to make and distribute later ridgeline models with the same safety hazzard and selling them defective.  Customer support and dealer are well aware of the issue, bug have not offered any fix or software patch for this design flaw... Hey my recourse is simply this, if they fail to turn off and a the police are my oncoming traffic and issue a ticket, I sue Honda and second and worst yet if it causes an serious accident possilby because a driver went off the road, I sue Honda.. and your folks for failure to tell Honda to fix this.. Way to long , to may complaints to you and Honda yet nothing 4 years later almost is being done... The dealer told me to contact Honda Corporate which I did in October 2025.  I was told the car was out of warranty and no further investigation would be made.  \u2028The cracks and visible rust raise concerns about premature corrosion, potentially weakening the door structure and latches, which could lead to a safety hazard over time. Rearview Camera Issue: The rearview camera tailgate wire harness might break, preventing the camera image from displaying and increasing crash risk. This affects certain 2020-2024 Ridgeline vehicles. Dealers will replace the harness free of charge. Owner notifications were sent on November 8, 2024, for Honda Recall Number YI7.     2. Brake Master Cylinder Issue: An improperly assembled tie rod fastener could cause the brake master cylinder to separate from the booster assembly, leading to a loss of brake function and increased crash risk. This affects certain 2020-2023 Ridgeline,  I called Honda customer service reported the problems case#[XXX].  However,  No action from Honda at the time. I tried to argue that the Accessory was recalled not the model year of the truck. The vehicle has nothing to do with the recall and repair to the Accessory. This first happened to me with roughly 2k miles on car and is sporadic.  Only cold weather and matches their TSB.  Happens frequently every winter for me.  For last 3 years    When I found Honda TSB 24-085 suddenly the dealer knew this was happening.  Yet I have been complaining for 3 years of issue. While taking an exit ramp to a different interstate I slowed down before the turn and then, when accelerating to merge onto the other interstate, my Ridgeline \"check engine\" light began flashing and the vehicle began to limp along at a maximum speed of ~40MPH. I quickly pulled off to a parking lot and arranged for a tow truck for the next day, as it was very late in the evening and very cold. The next morning, I went to meet the tow truck at the parking lot, and I started up my Honda Ridgeline with no issues (and no check engine light). It was then that I found a message board conversation titled \u201cCheck engine light flashing after freeway driving\u201d on the internet  [XXX] ) and discovered this issue had been occurring with other Ridgelines in similar conditions - i.e., long drives in cold weather where the driver slows down and then accelerates. In all cases, it seems that simply turning off the vehicle and re-starting a few minutes later fixes the problem, but not before you encounter a potentially dangerous situation with a disabled car on the road. On [XXX] I took my Ridgeline in for service at my local Honda dealership (where I had purchased the vehicle in 2022) and they were unable to find any issues or error codes stored (no error codes being stored seems to be the common occurrence with other drivers who have had this issue).  In my view, this issue, while somewhat uncommon due to the particular set of circumstances needed to produce the error, presents a major safety issue for the Honda Ridgeline as it can essentially disable your vehicle while driving on the interstate. I\u2019m hopeful that the NHTSA can work with Honda to quickly diagnose and resolve this safety issue before it leads to tragic consequences. So, I continued to my hotel 5 miles up the road. I got to my hotel and parked in the parking lot. As I got out of the vehicle, I close the door and hear a noise that is not normal for a typical door close. I opened and shut the door a few more times, then I walked around the vehicle to see if there was any damage from the loud noise that I heard while driving along I-70. I look all around the vehicle, then finally I notice the glass on the moonroof didn\u2019t look right. This is when I noticed that the moonroof had shattered. So, I use my cooler that I brought with me for the trip and look at the moonroof at a better viewing angle. I see that the glass has shattered. This seemed very unusual since I did not see any dents or scratches from any possible object that could have caused this. At this moment I reflected about my time driving on I-70 when that loud noise occurred moments earlier. The noise sounded like a gun shot that was very close by. I remember that I was not near any cars close to me, and there was no underpass nearby when the noise happened. The weather was partly cloudy, and the temperature was around 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The time that is happened was about 7:30 PM Central Time. THANKFULLY, THE SLIDER WAS CLOSED, SO THE GLASS DID NOT INJURE ME, BUT COULD HAVE INJURED ME IF IT WAS OPEN. I was unable to accelerate to match the speed of the traffic around me and created a hazard while attempting to find a safe place to pull off the road.  After about 1/4 of a mile I was able to pull off the road.  I shut off the vehicle and waited about 5 minutes.  I restarted the vehicle and the light didn't return and it had full power, so I completed my trip.  Additional info, outdoor temp was 34 degrees F.  I was driving into a 25 MPH headwind during the 2.5 hours of internet travel.    I took the vehicle to the dealer as it is under warranty and has about 18,000 miles.  Dealer removed intake manifold, removed water that had collected in the intake manifold and reassembled.  Vehicle computer didn't store any codes.  Dealer was unable to explain how the water got into the intake manifold or provide any satisfactory reason or logic as to why it would not occur again under the same conditions.   My concern is that there is some design flaw inherit to the air intake of this engine that allows condensation to collect under some conditions and causes a misfire that puts it into a limp mode that diminishes performance until the engine is cycled off/on. This is a safety problem not only for myself but also for oncoming vehicles.  I have had it to the dealership 5 times, they have replaced the light sensor at the base of the windshield and the camera behind the rearview mirror and have told me that this should resolve the problem but it has not as they continue to malfunction.  There are numerous reports on line about the ridgeline having this problem and so far the dealership has not been able to fix it.  They know they have the  problem but they don't seem concerned about it.  I have not had the police or my insurance company look at the problem yet.  I can though if requested. So  drivers are blinded by High Beams  and the driver of the Ridgeline expects them to turn off, hesitates expecting them to work before they realize they are not going to turn off... It is a miracle the trailer I was pulling did not brake free and kill another driver on the road. They kept it and are trying to get a radar sending unit but there are none. They have had the truck for almost 4 weeks. It fluctuates between high and low beam randomly on rural roads when it should be in steady high beam. I have a 30 minute video available which shows the erratic function as well as the high beam at oncoming traffic if needed.  It is more than 3 GB large and exceeds your file limitations.. Dealer states that they do not detect any fault codes in the system and can not troubleshoot any further. Dealer loaned me a 2020 CRV that performed as expected under the same driving conditions. There seems to be a lot of complaints on the internet over the past couple of years. Surprised that Honda has not fixed this safety issue.
