I took it to back to Douglas Infiniti for the issue, they found code C13E9-00, cleared the code and did the calibration again only for the issue to happen again once I was close to getting home. Spoke with Martin the advisor and he is saying that he thinks its an issue with the rack and pinion and not a software issue. I bought the rack and pinion from infiniti's wholesale direct website, the rack and pinion came from Infiniti of Winston Salem, so it's an OEM rack and pinion, he said I should take it back to the shop where I got it installed and have them check their work, even though they were able to calibrate the system once the new modules were installed, certify their work and give me back to the keys to the car only for the issue to happen again. Took it back to DriveWorks Auto Center in Union, NJ and they couldn't find any issue with the rack & pinion, said I need a wheel alignment thought, went and got a wheel alignment. Driving home from work yesterday on [XXX] going down the hill and the car steering went out momentarily and the car started pulling to the right, straightened the wheel and now I was swaying to the right. When I took my foot off the gas pedal, the gear just dropped immediately from above third to first gear and the car shook. I first noticed this when already out of the parking lot and pulling off from a median onto the road, with no engine light or other warnings. I quickly pulled into the turn lane where there wasn't traffic and turned the car off and back on. It was the same but luckily I was in eyes view of my apartment, so I drove under 10 mph and made it home.  I took the vehicle to a transmission service center and the error code that came up on the computer was (P0500 - Vehicle Speed Sensor A), which the service center said is an issue with the \"valve body\" inside the transmission, specifically the \"TCM - Transmission Control Module\" that sits on top of the valve body. I contacted multiple Infiniti service centers and they all confirmed that the valve body for my vehicle (part# 31705-x133a) is back ordered by over a month and could be longer until they have it. They do not sell the Transmission Control Module separately. The valve body was quoted to me for $2200 for the part alone. I attempted to install an aftermarket valve body and a new error code came up on the computer (PO720 - Output Speed Sensor Circuit). I kept the original valve body and will hold onto it. Doing some more research, this appears to be a common issue with the Infiniti Q50 - [XXX]    In addition to the reddit thread above, a quick google search for Infiniti Error codes P0500 and PO720 point to multiple sources indicating the same common experience and outcome.  My vehicle has 110k miles and users in the reddit comments are also reporting the same issue with the TCM Transmission Control Module occurring between 85k - 100k miles in all cases. I had the car towed to the dealership and the diagnostic codes reflected vehicle speed sensor and there was no physical damage that was visible under the car.   I was told that the problem was in the transmission and that it would need to be changed and given an estimate that totaled over $10,000.  I was also told by the service advisor that this is a known issue with the Infiniti Q50.  After doing researching this a common problem and the consumer is having to pay out of pocket if the warranty has ended.  This incident could have ended badly while doing 70mph on the interstate and the car just quits moving.   With all of the complaints that I have read over in regards to the transmission issues yet no action has been taken to investigate this problem.  It is obliviously a manufacturing issue and the consumer should not have to pay out of pocket for defective transmissions.  This luxury car was not a cheap purchase.  Very disappointed that with so many cases an investigation has never been done.  Infiniti should be held accountable and a recall should be issued for this problem. In total I've been to the dealer 3 times and been always told that they have not received parts from the manufacturer.  Today I called Infinity Consumer Affairs Department at 1-800-662-6200 and spoke to \"Dennis\".  He did little but talk in circles and did nothing to provide information and when the recall would be fixed.  Since I was getting no information and he was not listening or helping I told him I was ending the call and calling the NHTSA, which I did and spoke with Tyronda.  Confirmation number for call she gave me is [XXX]  for our call.  After my repeated efforts and complaints, Infinity appears to have no interest on fixing the vehicle recall they first advised me of in August, only seemingly \"going through the motions\" as slow as possible. My car is not fixed after about 4 months and they  have done nothing to contact me as to when it will be repaired. Once I\u2019m in push button to close garage doesn\u2019t work and car dies no power at all. Able to get car started by playing with battery cables. On dealership notes car was there 30 miles ago. Now they say wrong battery size. That battery was replaced by them on 2/28/22. CONTINUED DRIVING AND I'M NOTICING AS I TRY TO ACCELERATE MY CAR IS NOT SHIFTING INTO 3RD GEAR... SO I GET TO ABOUT 35-40 MPH AND NOW I CAN TELL IT'S REVVING IN THE SAME GEAR..GET HOME GOOGLE THE ISSUE AND IT SEEMS THE VALVE BODY ON THE 2015 Q50 HAS A THREAD... I TOOK MY CAR INTO AN INFINITI DEALER , SPENT $180 TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC RUN AND WAS TOLD THEIR IS A SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THE SPEED SENSORS THAT THEY SHOULD JUST REPLACE THE VALVE BODY. THE VALVE BODY IS $1635 AND ON A NATIONAL BACK ORDER AS OF AUGUST 2020 WHEN I'M EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE.. CALLED INFINITI CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND I'M TOLD WELL UNLESS YOU PAY FOR THE PART WE CAN'T DO ANYTHING TO GET IT EXPEDITED... IT'S BEEN 45 DAYS... WE CONTACTED THE INFINITY CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND REPORTED THE INCIDENT BUT MET WITH THE SAME NEGATIVE RESULTS.  A CONSUMER AFFAIRS CASE WAS STARTED AND WE WERE TOLD THAT THE ULTIMATE DECISION WOULD BE MADE BY THE DEALERSHIP. I AM AN UBER DRIVER IN SAN FRANCISCO AND FIND MYSELF TELLING MANY DRIVERS OF MANY DIFFERENT KINDS OF CARS THAT THEIR LIGHTS ARE NOT IN THE ON POSITION.  THEY ARE ALWAYS GRATEFUL TO KNOW.  THE PROBLEM, I THINK, IS THAT ALL THE CAR MANUFACTURERS ARE FOLLOWING YOUR DIRECTIONS, NOT THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX, AND NOT REALIZING THAT YOU AND THEY HAVE CREATED A POTENTIALLY DEADLY SITUATION. UNABLE TO MAKE FURTHER REPAIR TO CAR.      I ESCALATED TO INFINITI CUSTOMER AFFAIRS WITH LETTER AND PHONE CALL.  I ASKED FOR VEHICLE BUY BACK UNDER CALIFORNIA LEMON LAW. APPROX. 12 DAYS LATER INFINITI REPLIED WITH FOLLOWING:      INFINITI REALIZES SITUATIONS MAY OCCUR WITH YOUR INFINITI VEHICLE THAT, UNFORTUNATELY, FALL OUTSIDE OF THE PARAMETERS OF THE NEW VEHICLE LIMITED WARRANTY PROVIDED WITH YOUR VEHICLE.     THEY SAID NO WAY IN NOT TO MANY WORDS.    TALKED TO LEMON LAWYER AND SAID BE CAREFUL DEALER DOESN'T LIKE TO BE SUED, THEY WILL HIRE EXPERT WITNESSES AND IF YOU LOSE YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THEIR WITNESSES.     WENT BACK TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD ALL THE J HOOKS DO THE SAME THING.  THEY ARE NOT STATIONARY AND ROTATE AROUND AND IF YOU STEP OUT OF THE CAR AND PUT PRESSURE ON THE MAT IT WILL MOVE.  WAS TOLD WE WON'T PUT THIS INTO WRITING.  I BOUGHT A UGLY ALL WINTER THICK RUBBER MAT WHICH IS HEAVY AND DOESN'T MOVE AROUND. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. MA 10/5  THE DEALER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DEFECTIVE. THEY WERE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATED THE STUMBLING OF THE ENGINE, WAS CAUSED BY THE CONSUMERS DRIVING HABIT OF BRAKING WITH HIS LEFT FOOT, RATHER THAN THE RIGHT. THE CONSUMER STATED HIS COMPLAINT WAS UNWARRANTED. I ATTEMPTED TO PUSH EVEN HARDER ON THE BRAKE WITH NO RESULTS, MY CAR IS STILL INCHING FORWARD CLOSER AND CLOSER TO THE EXPLORER IN FRONT OF ME. THE BRAKE FELT FIRM LIKE IT SHOULD BE WORKING. I HAD TO THINK FAST AND THEN SLAMMED THE GEAR SHIFT INTO PARK. THIS FINALLY STOPPED THE MOVING VEHICLE IN WHAT SEEMED LIKE ONLY MILLIMETERS IN TIME TO AVOID REAR ENDING THE SUV IN FRONT OF ME.     THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME WHERE THE CAR STARTS TO MOVE AT A PROLONGED STOP WHILE MY FOOT IS ON THE BRAKE. I ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT INFINITI AND THEY REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS EVEN A PROBLEM, LET ALONE THAT THEY ARE WORKING ON A PATCH OF THEIR OWN. THIS EXPERIENCE IS BLINDING, DISTRACTING, DISTURBING, MAKES ME DISORIENTED, AND IS A SAFETY ISSUE.    SINCE TAKING OWNERSHIP OF THIS VEHICLE ON MARCH 19, 2015, I HAVE HAD TO LIMIT MY NIGHT DRIVING.  THIS EXPERIENCE HAS SUBSTANTIALLY IMPAIRED MY ENJOYMENT OF THIS VEHICLE.  I HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER, AND TO DATE, NO RESOLUTION.  THE DEALER, NATIONWIDE INFINITI OF TIMONIUM CLAIMS THAT THE PROBLEM CANNOT BE CORRECTED.
