Sometime around 4/26 to 5/26 my vehicle started to display odd operational patterns which were brought to my local dealerships attention. The first event where I was able to record any type of documentation was around 5/25/26. While driving, the vehicle would suddenly go into \"limp mode\" and rapidly decrease speed. Several check engine lights would appear to include: Service Electronic Throttle Control, Service Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control and the standard CEL. When this does happen, the vehicle will decrease speed suddenly without warning and becomes difficult to operate until it is pulled over and parked. Vehicle has been to my local dealership several times (4) and out of service for over 70 days with the latest stay 30+ days. According to documentation from the dealership, the listed error/issue has been recreated on their end at least one time but no data was captured with that fail. My local Jeep dealership Service Manager (CF) replied to an email of mine (7/16/26 at 1703) with the following statement: Verified customer concern of check engine light on connect to wytec and found p2173 stored in powertrain control module. Also found c121c stored in ABS module. Believe ABS code is related to PCM code, cleared codes test drove multiple times. Finally able to get customer concern to duplicate but no data was captured on this failure. We are continuing to drive the vehicle while monitoring data to catch freeze frame data while concern occurs but have not been able to do so far at this time. The condition, when it occurs presents a serious safety concern for the driver and other drivers as it will cause a sever throttle limitation and can cause the vehicle to slow down rapidly. This has occurred at 41%, 73%, and 81% battery state of charge during normal driving, with no wide-open-throttle demand \u2014 conditions under which the manufacturer's specification states electric power should continue. This is a loss of drive power. The manufacturer's own recall A7C (NHTSA campaign 25V710000) identifies a software error that may result in loss of drive power in these vehicles, and states that a loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash. My vehicle exhibits this condition but is not included in that recall population, which raises a question of whether the recall scope covers all affected vehicles. Safety risk: unexpected loss of drive power during normal driving \u2014 including when merging, crossing intersections, or pulling into traffic \u2014 creates a delay in which the vehicle does not respond to the accelerator as expected. Reproduced by the dealer: dealership service personnel personally experienced the loss of electric propulsion during a test drive, and the condition was also reproduced on a second 4xe vehicle at the dealership. In all cases, no diagnostic trouble codes were present, no repair was performed, and the vehicle was returned as \"operating as designed.\" A neutral arbitrator in the manufacturer's warranty arbitration found that a nonconformity exists with a propulsion issue on the vehicle. On June 6, 2026, at approximately 9:00 a.m., after driving the vehicle for about 25 minutes, I experienced a serious malfunction. While making a turn at a speed of less than 10 mph, the vehicle suddenly and without warning lost throttle and propulsion. It appeared to hesitate as though shifting between electric and gasoline power, and then abruptly and erratically lurched forward, accelerating to what felt like maximum speed. The Jeep struck a chain-link fence, which slowed its movement, but it continued to surge forward. I applied the brakes and attempted to maintain control of the vehicle, but it kept lurching ahead. At no point did the vehicle emit a safety warning, sound an alert, or attempt to stop automatically, even though it normally responds to obstacles when operating properly. I repeatedly attempted to place the vehicle in reverse, but it did not respond. I turned the engine off and back on several times, and only after more than three attempts did the vehicle finally recognize reverse, allowing me to back away from the fence. A man in a truck assisted me and contacted the police. Both the responding police officer and the assisting individual expressed concern about the potential danger, particularly because the vehicle is a 4xe. Problems post recall include: -Sluggish and weak acceleration in electric mode -No acceleration in electric mode when driving at highway speeds -Vehicle failing to maintain electric-only operation -Reduced power and speed when in electric mode These issues have created dangerous driving conditions, particularly on highways and during merging situations where adequate power and acceleration are critical to safety. This vehicle was purchased specifically for its hybrid/electric capabilities, which were a primary factor in the buying decision and are reflected in the vehicle's premium price point. It is deeply concerning and feels deceptive that a manufacturer issued recall has effectively degraded or disabled the core electric functionality that consumers paid for. Owners should not have their vehicles made worse by a recall intended to improve safety. What Happened / Safety Risk: The loss of electric propulsion occurs unpredictably during normal operation, including both highway and city driving. The reduction in available power and sudden loss of electric functionality creates a potential safety concern, particularly when driving in traffic or at higher speeds, where reduced or inconsistent propulsion may impact the ability to maintain speed or respond to driving conditions. Additionally, the vehicle is subject to a high-voltage battery recall involving fire risk, which raises concern regarding safe operation and storage of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to two Jeep/Dodge/Ram service centers for diagnostics and service, and both centers were unable to replicate the customer concern, although one noted that the battery terminal was \"disconnected\", even though the engine bay and battery section was never accessed by the driver from when it was purchased, including roadside assistance never accessing the engine bay and battery section, they simply towed the vehicle by disengaging the parking brake and engaging it when towed. This poses an abrupt and severe safety concern, as sudden loss of power and electrical systems results in loss of control, loss of lighting (external lights (headlights, taillights, hazard lights, etc.), and causes panic. This vehicle cannot be trusted as the safety is compromised.","products":[{"type":"Vehicle","productYear":"2025","productMake":"JEEP","productModel":"WRANGLER","manufacturer":"Chrysler (FCA US, LLC)"}]},{"odiNumber":11705742,"manufacturer":"Chrysler (FCA US, LLC)","crash":false,"fire":false,"numberOfInjuries":0,"numberOfDeaths":0,"dateOfIncident":"12/15/2025","dateComplaintFiled":"12/17/2025","vin":"1C4RJXN69SW","components":"POWER TRAIN","summary":"Subject: Safety Complaint \u2013 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Unexpectedly Shifted Into PARK While in Traffic Vehicle: 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Mileage at Time of Incident: 1300 Date of Incident: [XXX] Location: Ohio I am submitting this complaint to formally report a serious and dangerous safety defect involving my 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. While approaching a red traffic light at normal driving speed, the vehicle suddenly and without any warning shifted itself into PARK. I did not press the park button, and no alerts or warnings were displayed prior to the event. The vehicle abruptly decelerated, leaving me momentarily without power in active traffic. I had to quickly react, restart, and shift back into gear. This incident was completely unexpected, and placed me and others at immediate risk of a rear-end collision. This behavior is unacceptable in a modern vehicle and represents a clear safety hazard, particularly in traffic conditions where sudden loss of propulsion can result in serious injury or death. There were no dashboard warnings, messages, or indications that the vehicle was about to enter PARK. The vehicle was functioning normally immediately before the incident. I am requesting: 1.A full investigation into this incident 2.Written documentation of any known defects, recalls, or software issues related to unintended gear shifts in the Wrangler 4xe 3.A permanent fix, not a temporary reset or software update without explanation 4.Documentation placed in my vehicle service record acknowledging this safety issue I am also submitting this complaint to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) due to the severity of the safety risk. This incident has caused me to lose confidence in the safety and reliability of this vehicle, and I expect this matter to be treated with urgency. The settings I have access to do not include a way to manage the EVAS alerts, this must be done my the manufacturer (even the dealership, Lee Auto Jeep in Auburn, Maine, confirmed they do not have access/tools to do this from the manufacturer). The employee for Jeep on the phone denied knowing about this and said they confirmed there is no way to address the glitches/change settings. To force a communication alert feature, without the ability to edit settings to meet driver safety needs, and to deny any capability to address it, shows how the manufacturer is liable for any and all wrecks associated with how the EVAS disables audio and sometimes freezes the screen with the EVAS warning blocking everything--including the GPS map if someone is relying on that assistance to get to safety. While driving between 20 and 30 miles per hour, the vehicle went completely dead in traffic. No power, no lights, no dashboard, no blinkers, no brake lights. It stalled and was stuck in drive. It proceeded to roll a few feet after failing. It would not start as nothing was functioning. Because there was no power to the vehicle at all, I could not open the tailgate to get tools or a light. I had to climb over the seats. The vehicle failed in traffic while driving and came to an immediate stop in the road. In approximately 50ft I would have been turning left into and intersection. After a few days at the dealer, they recreated the problem. They drove it about a mile and it failed in traffic and needed to be towed to the dealership again. There was no warning or check engine light. Everything just went black/dead. The dealer states \"The ground wire under the TIPM/Fuse Panel was loose, causing intermittent short to ground canceling all power to vehicle.\" The vehicle has only 3000 miles on it, so this was a defect from the factory, as the wire is not even accessible without disassembly of the engine compartment.","products":[{"type":"Vehicle","productYear":"2025","productMake":"JEEP","productModel":"WRANGLER","manufacturer":"Chrysler (FCA US, LLC)"}]},{"odiNumber":11684169,"manufacturer":"Chrysler (FCA US, LLC)","crash":false,"fire":false,"numberOfInjuries":0,"numberOfDeaths":0,"dateOfIncident":"08/31/2025","dateComplaintFiled":"08/31/2025","vin":"1C4PJXDG0SW","components":"ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE","summary":"Just purchase unit right from [XXX] , Driven very home 100 miles, pick the unit up with 20 miles.
