I was never notified of this program.  This short time frame under the program leaves  MOST customers with these vehicles at risk.  A safety RECALL should've been done as this is a big safety issue.    It is not safe to drive with a bad brake booster because it significantly compromises your vehicle's braking power, making it dangerous.   A failing brake booster can cause a vacuum leak, which can lead to the engine stalling when you apply the brakes.  Unreliable and worsening problem: The issue is likely to get worse over time, and you could be caught off guard by a complete failure, leaving you with dangerously unreliable brakes.   Vehicle has been inspected by Lexus and Toyota, both quoting astronomical fees associated with Brake booster replacement due to malfunction.   Lexus Customer Brand Support was of no help, just repeatedly stating that the program expired and that it is up to me if i want to pursue legal action because this needs to be resolved by lexus. The plunger is designed with metal pleated bellows to allow for motion. Nitrogen gas is sealed between the plunger and housing. If this occurs, nitrogen gas could leak into the brake fluid and gradually cause the brake pedal stroke to become longer, resulting in decreased hydraulic pressure. IT IS BELIEVED  THAT THESE PARTS ARE DEFECTED AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL INITIALLY. THIS CAR HAS RUINED MY LIFE.IT HAS NEEDED ALL SORT OF REPAIRS SINCE I PURCHASED IT. MOST OF THE TIME IT HAS HAD TO JUST SIT IN THE YARD DUE TO THE FACT THAT I WAS AND STILL IS, AFRAID TO DRIVE IT.. IT STARTED JUST A FEW DAYS AFTER MY DEALER WARRANTY HAD RUN OUT. IT CUTS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, LOSING THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE,ETC. ONE DAY DURING WORK TRAFFIC IT CUT OFF ON ME AND TRAFFIC STAYED BACKED UP FOR MILES BEFORE I COULD CALL AND PAY FOR A TOW TRUCK. IN FACT, NOWADAYS, THAT'S BEEN THE ONLY WAY I CAN GET IT TO AND FROM THE REPAIR SHOP. NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT I SOCKED MUCH OF MY SAVINGS INTO THIS CAR BECAUSE I HAD JUST RECENTLY RECEIVED MY TEACHING CERTIFICATION AND EXPECTED TO BE WORKING FULL TIME AND WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEMS. I'VE RECEIVED NUMEROUS OFFERS TO APPLY FOR NUMEROUS TEACHING POSITIONS BUT HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO APPLY DUE TO THE LACK OF TRANSPORTATION. I HAVE A LOAN AND INSURANCE THAT HAD TO BE MAINTAINED. I ALSO HAVE A MORTGAGE THAT I EXPECTED TO BE ABLE TO PAY FOR DUE TO MY NEWLY ACQUIRED CERTIFICATION AND OBTAINING A DEPENDABLE FORM OF TRANSPORTATION BECAME A NECCESITY. AT THIS POINT I HAVE HAD TO MOVE IN WITH RELATIVES BECAUSE I CAN NO LONGER AFFORD THE HOUSE AND DUE TO CONTINUOUS CAR REPAIR COST, MAY EVEN BE LOSING THE NON OPERATING 2010 LEXUS HS250H, THAT I HAVE BASICALLY NEVER BEEN ABLE UTILIZE FOR A BETTER LIFE FOR MYSELF.  THE LEXUS DEALER WHO NOW HAS THE CAR HAS GIVEN ME A LOANER. I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL AND/OR WARRANTY SINCE DEFECTIVE PART. WITHIN 7 MONTHS OF NORMAL DRIVING, NO POTHOLES, NO SPEED BUMPS, THE CAR IS SO FAR OUT OF ALIGNMENT IT RUINED 2 REAR TIRES. TORONTO LEXUS TOLD ME THAT THE UNEVEN WEAR OF TIRES WAS DUE TO MISALIGNMENT OF TIRES BY WESTSIDE LEXUS. AND IT WAS ALSO RELATED TO THE REAR SUSPENSION ARMS RECALL WORK. SINCE EPOXY WAS APPLIED TO THE REAR TIE RODS, THOSE RODS WERE NO LONGER ADJUSTABLE. TORONTO LEXUS HAD TO REDO THE RECALL WORK AND REPLACE ALL 4 TIRES. TORONTO LEXUS CHARGED ME TOTAL $1762.82. DURING THE LAST .8 SECONDS THE CAR WENT FROM 5 MPH TO 9.9 MPH AND THE ENGINE RPM WENT FROM 1200 TO 2800. I DID NOT APPLY PRESSURE TO THE GAS PEDAL AT THIS TIME. I WAS APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE BREAK PEDAL. THIS IS A CASE OF UNINTENDED ACCELERATION CAUSED BY FAULTY ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL (ETC) SOFTWARE. SINCE THE EDR GETS IT DATA FROM THE ETC SOFTWARE AND NOT THE GAS PEDAL ITSELF, IT IS MOST LIKELY THAT THE SOFTWARE WAS A FAULT, AS I WAS NOT APPLYING THE GAS DURING THE LAST SECOND BEFORE THE ACCIDENT. IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO APPLY FULL PRESSURE TO THE GAS PEDAL WHILE APPLYING THE BREAKS AT THE SAME TIME ON THIS CAR. FIRST OF ALL MY SHOE WIDTH IS SMALLER THAN THE SPACE BETWEEN BREAK AND GAS PEDALS. FURTHERMORE THE BREAK PEDAL IS ABOVE THE GAS PEDAL MAKING IT NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR ANYONE TO APPLY THE BREAKS AND FLOOR THE GAS AT THE SAME TIME. THIS IS A CASE OF FAILED ELECTRONIC CONTROL SOFTWARE, WHICH HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED IN SEVERAL LAWSUITS THAT TOYOTA HAS LOST RECENTLY. I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE LEXUS DEALER AND THEY RAN A FULL CHECK OF THE ABS AND INDICATED ITS WORKING HOW ITS SUPPOSED TO.  THE REPORTED SOFTWARE FIX HAD BEEN ACCOMPLISHED ON MY VEHICLE A FEW MONTHS AGO. I'VE READ A LOT OF INFORMATION SINCE THE INCIDENT REGARDING THE HS250/PRIUS BRAKE PROBLEMS AND THE REPORTED SOFTWARE FIX AND CAN ASSURE YOU THAT DID NOT ADDRESS THE PROBLEM.  NO BRAKE SYSTEM SHOULD  TAKE THAT LONG TO STOP AT THAT LOW OF SPEED.  THE ROAD SURFACE WAS NOT HIGHWAY SMOOTH, BUT IT WAS NOT BUMPY NOR WAS THERE EXCESSIVE MOISTURE ON THE ROAD, WHEY TOYOTA CLAIMS IS A CAUSE. THE REMEDY REPAIR DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER ON FIVE OCCASIONS FOR THE IDENTICAL FAILURE. THE VEHICLE REMAINED AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR ONE WEEK. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THE FAILURE WAS A MANUFACTURERS DESIGN. THE CONTACT STATED SHE WILL NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE UNTIL IT IS REPAIRED. ON FEBRUARY 5, I REPORTED THE ISSUE TO THE LEXUS DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR AND PROVIDED THEM IMFORMATION SIMILAR TO THE ABOVE DETAILS.  THEY ARE LOOKING INTO THE ISSUE AT THIS TIME. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN IN THE BRAKING PROCESS, THEN THE BRAKES STALLED FOR A FEW SECONDS BEFORE RESUMING THE BRAKING ACTION.  IT IS UNEXPECTED AND DANGEROUS BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW IF YOUR BRAKES ARE COMPLETELY STALLING OR NOT. FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS, EVERYTHING JUST GIVES WAY BEFORE THE BRAKES SEEM TO BEGIN WORKING AGAIN.  IN THAT SITUATION, YOU DON'T KNOW WHETHER TO PRESS DOWN A SECOND TIME ON THE BRAKE OR TO PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL OR NOT DO ANYTHING.  WHEN THIS EVENT HAPPENS, YOU FEEL AS IF YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL OVER THE OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE, SIMILAR TO DRIVING ON A SHEET OF ICE, EXCEPT NONE OF THOSE SAFETY RULES SEEM TO APPLY HERE.  THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT EVERY FEW WEEKS.  I HAVE NOTICED THAT IT SOMETIMES HAPPENS WHEN I AM DRIVING OVER AN UNEVEN SURFACE, BUMP, OR A POTHOLE IN THE STREET WHILE BRAKING. THERE WERE FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS THAT THE IDENTICAL FAILURES OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING.  THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED FOR THE MALFUNCTION AT THIS TIME.
