We used the tethers with no improvement. Also the location of the crotch buckle punches and oftentimes does not latch correctly. This seat is dangerous as littles cannot verbalize what is going on. The cup holders impede proper locking of buckles but are required based on the manual.  Should a crash happened I\u2019m convinced a child would be harmed due to the seat shifting in the seat. When it shifts, the feet go up and the head goes down no matter how it\u2019s properly installed (seatbelt or tether) in the rear facing position.
