Vehicle has been properly maintained.  It is at Mazda dealer service dept. It can be inspected there.  If this fell apart on freeway it could have caused a major accident and loss of life. Dealer has not confirmed problem yet, awaiting their inspection. There were no warning signs or symptoms or messages.System passed previous Mazda service multi point inspection.
