On 11/5/21, the front passenger-side tire tread and belt began to unravel while driving at freeway speed. This happened suddenly, with no warning lights, and we became aware of the problem when we heard a loud thumping noise from the unraveled tire striking the underside of the vehicle. We immediately exited the freeway, found a tire shop, and had the tire replaced. The following week, I inspected the other tires and found that the front drive-side tire was failing in exactly the same way. We immediately had that one replaced too.
