A potential catastrophic failure could cause a  fire from transmission  fluid hitting the hot exhaust.  General Motors is aware of the issue and has issued a TSB.  I believe a potential fire and or collision exists if  transmission fluid  spills on the pavement. transmission fluid could cause spinouts of vehicles on road behind  a car with failure.   My vehicle has been experiencing this for the last couple months.
