When the light turned green I pressed the gas pedal. At this moment the ability to drive, brake, and select gear all failed. I deployed my emergency brake. I called the police to let them know I was blocking traffic and my car was towed.  When my car was taken to be repaired the mechanic determined that the CV Axle Driveshafts had failed due to salt corrosion.
