The service manager stated that they diagnosed an oil cooler housing defect which would cost $1,030.00.  My daughter drives this vehicle and, out of concern for her being stranded on the road, I specifically inquired as to whether this issue was something that could result in a catastrophic failure, to which he responded \u201cIt could very well happen.\u201d    Unsolicited, he recommended that we retain the service receipt because (in his words) \u201cI expect to see a recall on this issue because we have seen this SO many times on this engine.  In fact, the dealer often runs out of this part and we have to wait to initiate the repair.\u201d  He then informed us that we were lucky this time because he was able to get the last replacement part in stock for this issue from the dealer.  I also asked that he return to me the part they removed, which he did, and I have it in my possession if you might need it for inspection.
