This issue will happen occasionally and is dangerous. There was a recall campaign 16v-704 on January of 2017 that the BMW x5's stating the following \"BMW is conducting a Voluntary Safety Recall involving certain Model Year 2015 - 2017 vehicles\u2019  Electronic Power Steering (EPS) control unit.\"  SOS Automotive in Covina, CA diagnosed this vehicle and said the EPS has to be replaced.  Either my car was not addressed by BMW or should have been addressed and fixed. The price to fix this is over $4,000 and the mechanic said he rarely sees an EPS fail.
