It was brought into the Alexandria, VA VW dealer who confirmed the problem and that the clockspring was under extended warranty due to known problems on January 19, 2022. However, the part was unavailable and no ETA was available, so I brought the car back home. As of April 19, 2022, Volkswagen continues to have no ETA for this part despite ongoing communication on my part. The vehicle has no working driver's side airbag or horn, which is a safety risk. Vokswagen continues to state that they are awaiting an ETA from their manufacturer.
