The accelerator was no longer responsive as the vehicle  decelerated. The warning lights, infotainment center and A/C were still operational. Vehicle was maneuvered off the highway , but would not start up after power down.   Vehicle battery was replaced, and the same error occurred 2 weeks later while the car was idled.
