The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where the battery was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact took the vehicle to a dealer who informed him that the failure was related to the electronic power steering assist and was given an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed him that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The vehicle had yet to be repaired.
