The contact exited and checked the gas cap and noticed that fuel was pouring from under the passenger’s side rear tire. The contact had the vehicle towed to a certified mechanic who diagnosed that the fuel tank needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 42,800.
