The on-screen manual override will not work in this situation.  You just use the interior physical control on the pillar near the door you are trying to open.  For this control to work you must disable the child protection control.  Manually raising the door therefore requires several intermediate steps including disabling a basic safety mechanism.  On top of all that, the door takes up to 20 seconds to open using the manual override.  I have had the issue repaired on 3 separate occasions and it is still not fixed.
