This is a safety issue.   I have driven less than 500 miles each time the car alerted me to needing a quart of oil.  This car was serviced by Volvo of Greenville, SC for all of it's maintenance and based on the service records, I felt safe buying this vehicle because Volvo had always serviced it!  I was robbed!
