Luckily, I had run flat tires that prevented a dangerous incident to myself and fellow drivers. I took my car to a local tire shop, and they identified extreme inner wear of the tire that ripped through the sidewall. This similar damage happened once before. I have replaced two sets of tires in under 30,000 miles. Based on an online search I have found that this issue is widespread to Lexus owners. I have contacted Lexus about this, but they would not do anything substantial to address this safety issue.
