The contact stated that upon turning off and restarting the vehicle, the warning message disappeared, and the vehicle regained power steering functionality. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to her residence; however, the failure reoccurred while driving. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the actuator module and the steering rack needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was awaiting a call back from the manufacturer. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000.  The contact stated that the manufacturer did not offer much help.
