The reflective plate becomes yellow due to the heat of the HID light bulbs and causes the low beam lights to become dim and not put out the required output for safety and visibility. This part can not be replaced individually and the whole headlight assembly has to be replaced at a cost of $1200 per each side. Changing out the HID bulb with a comparable one does not increase the visibility either. I\u2019ve taken my car to the dealership and have it on record what is wrong with it and that there is no other reason for the dim headlight other than that one defective piece.
