I spoke today with BMW USA Consumer Relations and they tell me that it may be weeks or months until the replacement airbags are available. I am very worried about driving a car for so long where the airbags are not reliable.  I am surprised that BMW is allowed to have me wait for months for a replacement of as vital a safety feature as driver airbags.  In the meantime, I cannot sell the car, I cannot purchase the lease as there is a recall.  Plus BMW refuses to allow me to end the lease.  I hope you will consider making this a 'do not drive' recall instead of putting drivers of this very expensive car at risk for so many weeks.
