There has been a voluntary extended warranty due to a known issue on their end for years with this very expensive fix on low mileage cars.  The voluntary extended warranty for this issue is not including the GLA class, when Mercedes has known this is a known issue and defect with their vehicles at the detriment and safety of the owners who unknowingly have to deal with this.
