I believe there was a failure of the right front suspension system. When I got out of the vehicle to inspect the damage I found some broken bushings on the ground. They were split in half. The right wheel was pushed back 18 inches. I collected all the broken parts and had the vehicle towed to Sun Road Collision Center, 7303 Clairmont Blvd, San Diego, CA 92111. I asked them to save all the broken parts of the suspension system. The USS Midway does have a film of the incident. I was trying to get them to release the video to me. I will upload the photos that I took. I was the only one in the vehicle and knew if that concrete block was not there to stop me I would have gone into San Diego Bay and possibly drowned. The damaged parts are at the Collision Center. I asked them if they saw anything unusual to let me know. I have filed a claim and told what I believe happened to my insurance company, USAA. No police report was filed since the incident occurred off the highway. Two members of the Miday safety team came and provided assistance to me until the tow truck arrived.
