I recently had my car repaired for a completely separate issue and while I addressed a problem with the steering,  my mechanic made me aware of a 2015 recall for the Electrical Power Steering electronic control unit. I was provided with information regarding it. While my VIN number was not listed as an automobile affected by this issue, it is evident that this is what's occurring. My days have been spent on the phone with the manufacturer and was told numerous times that my VIN number was not identified in said recall. As a result, I was told not to drive my car due to it being a safety concern, meaning I could lose overall control of the car, and I am now lacking transportation. Please advise on how to proceed, I would like to get this matter resolved in a reasonable time.
