I have to keep shifting the car between the park position and the drive position before I put it back to the park position for the car to completely shut-off.  This car is available for inspection.    As far as safety is concerned, the only thing I can think of is that if the car does not completely shut off the battery would drain and not be able to start the car.   I took the car to my mechanic and he said that I need to take it to the dealer. The dealer was informed and the dealer said that it was not a recall.  The car was only inspected by my mechanic.
