The contact's wife drove the vehicle to a safe location and parked the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, but the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact stated that the independent mechanic reset the codes and the vehicle operated as intended; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that the battery needed to be replaced. The battery was replaced but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed MAP sensor. The contact was informed that the MAP sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle remained with the dealer for nineteen days and the MAP sensor was replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred.  The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed with needing a software update. The vehicle was at the dealer for another 34 days and the software update was completed and the PCM was replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that the failure had been persistent. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance.
