It would not secure, thus causing a safety issue. Anyone or anything could have fallen out of the vehicle. The latch assembly cost $500, and another $197 for installation. T2 automotive in Palatine made the repairs on 1/22/2024. The same repair was made under warranty at Motorwerks Infiniti back in 2017. The liftgate door open indicator did go on. No alarm came on prior to the failure.
