The part is cheap to replace, but the repair is over $4,000 because of the vehicle\u2019s design. The A/C is controlled by an air box under the dash board but the box cannot be worked on without first removing the dash board and the dash cannot be worked on without removing the windshield. I was told that there was nothing I could have done to create or prevent the problem, it\u2019s just not a sturdy material used. And there is nothing that can be done to prevent this from reoccurring, which would be another $4,000+. In Fresno\u2019s over 110 degree summer heat, driving around without an A/C is a health concern.   Also, the vehicle won\u2019t release the key from the ignition when it is turned off.
