I called BMW and took the vehicle in the next morning. The BMW dealership stated the GEAR SELECTOR LEVER ASSEMBLY needed to be replaced and needs immediate attention. At a cost of $2,858.40.  Apparently I am not the only person who feels this is a safety issue due to a manufacturing malfunction and should be repaired by BMW. The bigger problem is people are opting to ignore the warning because it\u2019s to costly to repair and have found a way to override the warning light. This is a safety concern to the public and I hope it will be addressed in a recall. My vehicle only has 53k miles on it and has been well maintained and cared for.","products":[{"type":"Vehicle","productYear":"2017","productMake":"BMW","productModel":"X1","manufacturer":"BMW of North America, LLC"}]}]}
