This almost caused an accident! I was driving around 55MPH and the steering and brakes completely locked up. I couldn't turn the wheel or stop my car. Eventually I slowed down and barely got the steering wheel to turn so I wasn't stuck right on the highway. My car was towed to a mechanic that replaced the alternator.
