This started about 1.5 years ago on the tailgate.  It has now spread to the hood and the top of the vehicle.  I called Toyota customer care, and they indicated this a known widespread problem with this vehicle make and model.  So far, only the pearl white color has been recalled as the result of numerous consumer complaints.  My vehicle color is nautical blue- Toyota indicated there has not been enough consumer complaints yet for this color for it to be recalled.
