Started my vehicle and put it in reverse to leave gas station began smoking, as I put it back in drive to get out of traffic was a loud noise and I immediately stopped turned off the car. Found two parts from my engine on the ground in the parking lot. Was towed to Bentley Hyundai dealership in Huntsville, Al. This happened on [XXX]. On or about 7/29/2024 Bentley Hyundai did a diagnostic and I was told I need an engine replacement, Hyundai approved the engine replacement, and they ordered parts. On or about 8/7/2024 I asked Hyundai for the repair order and on the paper they gave me said the harmonic balancer/crank shaft broke. I spoke to one of the mechanics at Hyundai as I needed to get some personal items out of my car and the gentleman I spoke with said he doesn\u2019t know how this happened that a bolt broke but that bolt was not supposed to break like it did. Said \u201cit was pretty cool to see\u201d . My vehicle still currently sits at Bentley Hyundai until parts come in. My vehicle was purchased at Tameron Hyundai in Hoover, Al.
