I was notified on June 23rd 2023 that my vehicle was included in this recall. It's now more than 1 year later and the recall is still incomplete. I've made several attempts to have the recall addressed including scheduling a service appt on Aug 12th 2024 (at Fox Chevrolet in Caledonia MI).\u00a0 While at this appointment I was told directly that they had the parts but couldn't do the repair because my vehicle status is \"Incomplete. Remedy not available\". I also contacted GM customer service under their ticket number [XXX]. My understanding is that if the inflator is defective that shrapnel can be thrown in the drivers face in a collision where the airbag deploys.\u00a0 This could cause injury or death. It's not reasonable to expect a safety system to injure you nor is it reasonable to expect someone to park the vehicle for more than a year. GMC should, at a minimum, offer to disable the drivers side airbag until a remedy is available. I realize there are almost 1 million vehicles involved in this recall and in April of 2024 only 3500 vehicles had been remedied. At this rate it will take about 140 years for GMC to address this issue.
